Does anyone know if there is a club or FB group that organises meets for Taycan enthusiasts to see each other’s cars and share their experiences?

I do a lot of travelling and working abroad. That has got me good at planning excursions - particularly driving and hiking (my favourite hobby) trips where I sometimes take along those who I meet on my travels. They always love it.

In another life, I should have been a tour operator.

I'm currently on a driving, hiking and sightseeing tour right now in a foreign land, broken up where I must work through the week.

I've for long been thinking of starting a group with forum members - it will live on WhatsApp - once I get my Taycan where I will plan day trips (UK) or long weekend trips (Europe).

Not only does it give a great excuse for forum members to meet up, it means we can enjoy an epic drive in our Taycan's (think mountain roads), where even specific roads will be chosen and part of the itinerary, do some fun stuff during the day and night, and otherwise do more than just stare at each others cars. It will be huge fun, memorable and a nice break from normal life.

The entire thing I will plan and an itinerary will be supplied, including driving directions. All forum members need to do is turn up and book their accommodation if it's an overnighter. The European trips means even our Continental friends can get involved in the action and it would be hilarious to have a convoy of Taycan's tearing the place up ?

I was also thinking we could get some walkie-talkies and have some banter during the drive, or otherwise communicate hazards or plan in case of wrong turns, someone having a problem with their car, etc.

Alas, I likely won't be getting my Taycan until summer of next year, so until then...

I am always ready for long drives and to meet people if don't have any serious work,
and this weekend I am planning to go to Asia, which country will be best to visit over there, don't say china, the covid case is again increasing over there... @TaycanHero you suggest where I should go...
I am currently in South Africa - the epicentre of Omicron - and I can tell you, worry more about people doing bad things to you than pathogens. If humanity were this hysterical about cases of flu and the common cold, it would have paralysed society for eons. If you are below retirement age and with no comorbidities nor excessive body fat, it's time to move on now.

With that said, if you can get into Vietnam, worth a visit. Really it depends what you want.

If you want beaches and relaxation, then Bali or parts of Thailand. If you want some outdoor activities, then Thailand. If you want culture, parts of Indo.

If you want something that has all the unique qualities of Europe but with a polar opposite culture, then Japan.

I wouldn't discount China if that is easier to get to. I have never been, but would have no qualms going and certainly not because of diseases, which have always existed. There are many incredible things to do and see there.

How much time you have is a bigger deciding factor.

I leave the UK for months and usually spend at least 30 days in every country I visit. I work during the week and my "holiday" time is evenings and weekends.
