I recently had my windshield replaced and the calibration technician dropped his equipment on my hood. Well, left it unattended in high winds and it blew over.

there are scratches to the hood and side but they may only be in the PPF. Hard to say.

do folks have any recommendations on what to do. Should I take it to the ppf shop or auto body first?

Edit: The company is going to make it right and cover any repairs.

Have the company admitted fault?
Do they have insurance?

Yes, the company will take care of it for me. They were very responsive and just need an estimate for their books.

Given they are willing to pay, I just want to do the right/best thing.

I would take it to whoever did your PPF in the first place and have them give a quote for repair and you can hand this to the company that caused the damage. Likely needs to replace PPF for the entire hood and side panels but not sure if it affect original factory paint.

Glad to hear that they will take care of you!

I agree then. PPF first stop.

Oh man so sorry this happened to you! Thank goodness for the camera coverage. If you did not have that you may have never gotten it covered.

Good luck with the repair.

It also helps to have an insurance broker. They referred me to this glass repair company so they want to make sure they maintain that relationship too I am sure.

you are fortunate that you had video of the incident.

years ago my MB was in for service and they returned the car to me with a large dent in the hood.
the people in the work area tried to deny their responsibilities for the dent until I got the management of the dealership involved and they made things right.
