Actually I'm pushing 63 and find it a doddle to get in and out of the 992 18-way seats compared to the Taycan (design flaw from the get go) due to a non ill placed b-pillar.

I am much older than that but agree with you about the difficulties with the Taycan. I just need to find a good car with a higher seating position. I also have some new surgery which makes it more challenging with twists etc.

It not as bad as this though! ??

Looking also at the excellent report that @ct14garage provided, I can see that my garage queen has been in Porsche repair and checks for 348 days in this period.

My 2020 turbo has been at the dealer a total of 59 days for recalls and the like, and I thought that's a lot.
It's insane how much of a lemon/dud your car has been in terms of reliability. Your taycan is definitely in the top of most unreliable i've seen.

You could try a Lucid. A lot more specious inside, even more power, more range, and very similar driving dynamics. Not a lot more reliable, but compared to your taycan, anything would be more reliable. And Lucid sends service to your address, rather than you go to them, so it's a +. Another +, no wide spread battery issues and recalls... bit of peace of mind.
It is uglier though, in my opinion.

Definitely the worst placed pillar of any sedan ever... I would be shocked if they don't change that for an eventual taycan 2.

3. I have been experiencing bad quality from a well known manufacturer, with 3 service shops close by.
4. my use case is long distance European road trips so need peace of mind for service in most of the Western European countries.

Lucid sends people to where your car is for service. They fix your car where you are

Only catching up on this thread now @W1NGE – amazing we're making the transition to 911 around the same time and for close enough similar reasons (ICE itch needing a scratch).

I for sure am going to miss those massive yellow carbon ceramic discs and callipers. Totally unnecessary but fab looking.

Would love to see a pic of the Slate Grey Neo. I especially like the "flat" non-metalic colours.

I only ever needed to charge my Taycan in the wild once in the 3+ years I owned it, but your threads gave me confidence if I did use it for a road trip.

Enjoy, there really are some great routes and you won't go wrong with anything on the Wild Atlantic Way (https://www.discoverireland.ie/wild-atlantic-way). Don't try to do too much in one day – stop off at the sights and soak it all in. And assume it will be raining!

The i4 is perfect for me, personally. Definitely doesn't feel like a V1 product.

There are very few reported issues and most forum members love their cars and think BMW hit it out of the park.

I agree with you. BMW have learnt a lot from their experience with i3 and i8 models I think. I have used my i4e35, the absolute base model, for 14 months. Used it both locally as well on a long trip of over 10,000km through Europe. Not a single issue or glitch. OTA SW updates as well as enhancements (upgrades) have downloaded, and been installed with no glitches or problems at all! I have had some relearning with how to use the SW in the car but soon got the hang of it.

Maybe they declare its value as scrap metal for tariff purposes, then have the dealer convert domestically from scrap metal to working car
