Not on the scale of Pikes Peak but an interesting watch all the same :)

Description:

Dan Prosser uses a Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo to try and break two records at the iconic Shelsley Walsh hillclimb. With four-wheel drive and up to 750bhp, the electric Taycan is seriously quick – but will it be quick enough to beat the production EV and estate car records?

Shelsley Walsh is the oldest motorsport venue in the world still in use on its original course. It is narrow and steep, making it a real challenge for for both car and driver. Power counts for me here than any other UK hillclimb. But will 750bhp be enough?

Very impressive. The only one braver on track was that pheasant.
Thanks for posting, the venue is a piece of motorsport history that had passed me by.

Great.
I have driven Shelsley Walsh on a day organised by my insurance broker for his clients over 25 years ago and it is scarily narrow and fast. I am not brave enough to be a racing driver. A much younger Adrian Newey was there too in his Renault company sports car (he was at Williams at the time). Now he has a Lotus 49 to drive at the Monaco classic!

The GT isn’t an estate though, so would be competing for a different record - may well still smash that one though, no idea what it is, but I can imagine there is more competition.

He did also break the EV record and one would expect the GT to do so by a bigger margin on a hillclimb with such a long straight.

Yeah as Frank’s said on the day he broke the fastest estate record but he was also fastest production car and fastest EV. I reckon the GT could take the outright record in the latter two, just not the Labrador Lugger title ? soz I’m a saloon guy
