Tips for new Taycan owner??!

I have been spending hours sitting in the Taycan going through every setting, every option on the PCM. PPF guy asked the car to be kept out of the rain for 7 days while the PPF cures so its basically been a hangar queen in its 1st week. The Good to Know app is very handy in hunting down pesky settings. Haven't run into any bugs yet except a silly one - when it shows the range on the main PCM display, it says KMs even though the number is in miles. They should have used a new IVI instead of the junky MIB3 with SW from Aptiv.

I'm not a fan of Apple Car Play because I don't want passengers to read or listen to my texts as they come through. I'd much rather simply have my phone connected to a car's blue tooth. My Mercedes I'm getting rid of lets me answer the phone with a push of a button on the steering wheel without touching the phone, and then it comes through the car speakers. Is the Taycan the same?

Yes, you can choose to connect phone to PCM and not CarPlay and it will operate the way you describe/prefer.

thats exactly what i did when i first got my MINI SE.

Lift the front end judiciously.
Get front end PPF.
Install a radar detector.

Get as much PPF as possible. My entire car is wrapped and rear door hips already have pits after ~1000 miles. (Xpel Ultimate)

Yes it is the same. Either answer using the bottom on the steering wheel or on the PCM display

I got a good 90 minutes training at my dealer at delivery. That was totally awesome and essential to ask many questions. I strongly suggest you check to get that.

make sure it charges before you leave the dealership - my friend's eTron didn't charge when it got it home - real bummer if you can't 'fuel' and EV - took it back and it was a software update dealer forgot to apply…but almost ran out of juice getting back to the dealership.

if possible try out a near by fast charger also - just pay for the session and charge for 5-10 min - speed doesn't matter - just want to know it works.

There is a walk through youtube video on suggestive settings for the Taycan. It is about an hour long, but worth the watch to get things going.
