Looking for a 2020 4S
Must have ACC and Premium Package
Have found a few via the online sites but thought I’d put a note on here as well

Somewhat flexible on color
Strong preference for full leather

Thanks all!

That is a great build but it’s going to be outside of my budget I’m afraid. Thanks for responding though! GLWS.

I’ve found a few that meet my specs on the 65-70k range (no accidents, under 30k miles, full leather, ACC). Just thought I’d check here before moving ahead on one.

That’s a good price. I’d jump on that. In my area South Florida its going for $90k roughly. I’m on the fence on selling, I truly luv this car I’m just worried about the depreciation all of the electric cars are experiencing. Good luck

Let us know the car you end up buying at what price, once you buy it of course. It's helpful for others in the market.

Interestingly, three of the cars I’ve found are in Florida. The one that I’m closest to doing a deal on is one of them. 90 Seems very high but then again I haven’t been looking at Turbo pricing so I don’t have real data. For 4S, the numbers seem to be 68-72 for non-CPO and 75-80 for CPO.

I’m looking at a low mileage 4S with an MSRP of 135 and will end up around 68 if I do the deal.

Assume 50% of sticker three years out from original sale, adjust from there for things like mileage, condition, unpopular options, etc.

That seems about right. Wish I could get my budget up to buy yours. You did a great job of spec’ing. It isn’t my primary car so I’m setting a limit. ;)

That’s a good plan. You’ll find a car. I’d be patient and wait until the right car shows up. Time is on your side.

A Tale of Two Taycans:
Same dollars, both 4S-
2020 with 25 k miles.
2021 with 45 k miles.

Comparable MSRP’s
2020- preferred interior color and full leather
2021- preferred exterior color and more ‘sport’ options
Neither CPO
Both 1 owner clean carfax

I welcome the debate

Short answer: lower miles is going to pay back more dividends than age. I'd go for the 2020.

Longer answer: I'm assuming the newer car is the same price because of those miles. MOST (not all) of the Taycan features will not add huge residual value to the car, so in that regard, whichever car had the higher MSRP originally is the better deal for you here as you are "getting more car" for the same value, if that makes sense.

You cannot easily change interior color (big $$ to change), but you an semi easily wrap an exterior of a car (and those prices have gotten lower); so if that is your thing then that makes the "preferred interior color" the smarter choice.

Can you elaborate on "sport options" ?? I've had 3x Taycan (current is a wagon); and I will say that the rear axle steering is a big benefit on a car of this size. If either of then have that feature and you drive sportingly, you'll love that item. It isn't a must have (my CT lacks it, and I still bought it; though I was driven by price above all else).

Again with the limited data provided I'd go with the older car, but that is just me --

I didn't put too many details in my OP as I didn't want to bore everyone but I will add more here to respond to your thoughts above.

My inclination on the 2021 had more to do with the 2021 charging udpates than the actual 'year newer'. Maybe that isn't such a big deal though.

Re colors: the 2020 is a color that I LIKE and the 2021 is one that I REALLY LIKE. Both are in my top 3-4 choices. The 2020 interior is a color that I LOVE and is full leather. The 2021 is not full leather and is a perfectly acceptable color.

The 2020 had an MSRP about $2500 less than the 2021. The 2021 had Sport Chrono, PSCB, LKA, InnoDrive and Intel Range Manager. They both have ACC, Premium, 21" wheels (different versions, both nice).

ODD QUESTION: on VINANALYTICS Report, one shows Power Folding Mirrors and one does not. Aren't they standard and/or part of Premium Package?

Power folding mirrors was included in the Premium package.

Mileage is irrelevant IMO on EVs; try and get SoH measurements.

Options and preferences on color notwithstanding, my rule of thumb is to never buy the first year of anything - especially an all-new Porsche model. They’re tough in their prelim testing, but there are always defects that develop with time. And P are great at making improvements throughout the production lifetime of a model. (As an aside, that’s also I’d be inclined towards the higher-mileage car, as it’s been driven.)

I'm about 85% sure that this statement is only correct for the 2020 MY. By 2021 they had removed the power folding mirrors from the PremPkg. Again I'm not 100% certain but fairly certain. As a side note both of my 2020's had this pkg and these mirrors, but my '21 4CT has the PP but lacks the power folding mirrors, which substantiates my data but is only a sampling of 2 model years across 3x cars. :p YRMV

EDIT: OP, let me guess-- the 2020 has PP and power folding mirrors, but the 2021 also has PP but lacks the power folding mirrors, correct?
