I want to install clear PPF on the front and 4 passenger doors. I noticed there is already a small patch of clear PPF installed on the bottom rear doors.

What do you guys usually do in this case? Apply the new film over it? cut around it? or peal off the factory ones and install over them?

On all my installs, they have removed any decals, emblems or existing PPF.

My installers removed the original pieces, installed the new PPF, then put the original pieces back on top.

How easy was it to remove? I spoke with my guy and he said the last time to tried to remove the factory installed PPF a bit of clear coat came off lol

I don’t know, they never said it was a problem - I assume a little heat would have been used. Only time I had an issue was on my Lotus - but then they weren’t exactly known for build quality :)

My shop here in NM insisted on removing them as they will yellow
My installers removed the original pieces, installed the new PPF, then put the original pieces back on top.
My installer also said they could put it back on top of the PPF, but recommended leaving it off. Under the 330 annual days of intense high-desert sunlight here in NM, that OEM rear-quarter "rock guard" piece will just yellow quickly anyway (even with overnight garaging). Londoners might not so much have that kind of problem, though?

Intense high desert sunlight isn’t an issue we face in London often. If you need rain, let us know, we always have it in stock ?

Does the PPF manufacturer or the shop offer replacements under warranty for any yellowing? Otherwise your Taycan has a soft gold hue on top of the FBM!
