Had a good test drive in a GTS saloon yesterday. Thank you Porsche Bolton
Nice car - Gentian, a little subdued for me but v tasteful spec.
Proper GTS body kit with letters on side skirts and the only chintz inside ambient lighting.
Beautiful base GTS Race Tex trim.
I find the GTS crayon and red interiors a bit too much.
Also had a look at the red GTS ST in the showroom - Fully loaded
Carbon extras outside and in, preferred the Gentian!

Took a trip to another Porsche dealer to look at the Frozen Berry in the flesh.
Love it but still dont have the nuts to order one.
They had a Stealth Volcano ST in the showroom that was mysteriously missing the GTS
on the side skirts, they were gloss black, like EVERYTHING else on the car
Too black for me! It was a Batmobile
As Lego Batman says, "I only ever build in black, or sometimes dark grey"

The question you ALL want answering.......
Yes! None of them had stainless steel on the pedals!
The 3 dealers near me all have GTS saloon demos and GTS ST in the showroom.
My Crayon saloon was March build and April delivery.
Wont be before end of May now?

What didn't you like about Carmine Red? It's surely the best colour for the ST... Surely ?

The Carbon Design sports kit is vile.

Crayon is my second choice colour but oddly, I just find it suits the saloon better than the ST.

I'm going Carmine Red exterior, crayon leather interior.

I do think standard Race-Tex interior is nice - saw it back in Feb and drove a GTS saloon in March - both had it.

However, I really want a leather steering wheel, so that means the rest of the cabin is in leather. Also wanted something bit brighter.

Crayon is a stunning exterior colour. Had a test drive in a 4S CT back in Feb. It was crayon. Suits it with the black wheel panels and accents.

More impressions

1/ Couldn’t tell the difference dynamically between the GTS and my old 4S.
Sorry!
Don’t think I am a good enough driver!
Both fast as **** and handle sublimely.
Launch felt the same…?

2/ Race Tex interior and 18 way seats sublime. I am FULLY converted to 18 way. GTS nicer place to be. Don’t spend 8k upgrading 4S interior.
Buy a GTS.
And you get decent wheels and/or upgrade to 21 cheaper

3/ Tried Lane Change Assist. I seriously expected it to change lanes for you for £500. Shows what I know!
Turns out it’s a flashing light in the mirror. Massively underwhelming.
I will have for 3/12 free with FoD then not bother.

4/ HUD. Spoils the lines of the dash, just like the pointless Chrono clock , with a bulging bulbous dome. Too bright, too high and too colourful, more distracting than helpful.
There are enough multi configurable screens in plain sight!

5/ 4 zone climate. Nightmare. Kids Constantly mucking about with it in the back. They were able to mess up front settings. Don’t ask me how! Do NOT get this if you have kids!

6/ Passenger screen. See above. More distracting than one kid messing with screen in the back is the other one messing around in the front as it’s in your eyeline.
if you want your passenger to help (I don’t!) they can reach the central screen. Especially easy for right handed passengers in the UK

7/ Didn’t get on with ACC. Braked too aggressively. Over sensitive. I was happy with basic cruise in my 4S. Disappointed there was no Active Lane Keeping to try. I read here that it is with ACC. No. You need full Innodrive for ALK

8/ Didn’t drive at night so couldn’t test matrix lights.

9/The rear view camera is HILARIOUSLY distorted and bad with the 360 parking.
Rear camera MUCH better with just the sensors. 360 parking just confused me.
Didn’t try the park assist. Found it easier to not fanny around with it.
Couldn’t tell if the car had Rear Steer!
Forgot to ask!
Didn’t have any problems manoeuvring so can’t help that debate!

10/ Quite liked the noise! Surprised me.
it does blip like a gear change. A bit of fun.
But. It should be LOUDER.A bit of music drowns it. I would turn it off most of the time but when you want to turn it on Let’s have ON on. Not just on!

11/ And finally.
Massive disappointment with BOSE.
No better than base.
just a bit louder.
My other car is an Etron.
Base Audi Etron 50 Technik.
The base Audi Sound System is miles, MILES better. The B+O upgrade in an Audi must be stupendous and it’s a fraction of the price of getting Burmeisted.

I agree with a lot you say buti think HUD is a must have now that I have it in my 4s "interim" car.
The display height is configurable as is the brightness...
On my collection the dealer principal was over setting up my car exactly the way he has his. HUD in lowest setting and dimmed to the appropriate level, he even configured my quick set custom buttons as he has them, which I like!
Yes I prefer the naked dash, but I'm so happy with HUD everyday, it's now on my build!

Good point. I realise I could have configured HUD better but it seemed to me all the info was available on the other 5 screens if you consider the binnacle as 3 tubes!

I am a dash tart! I don’t mind the Sports Chrono functions but the eternal second hand is like the clock of doom.
Wish you could deselect! Might take the Porsche Design Clock next time?
Otherwise I am going to buy a white stormtrooper spec GTS ST because my 12 year old is 6 ft tall and, soon, won’t fit in the back of the Crayon/Chalk saloon/sedan and I will put a stormtrooper helmet over the clock.

I've got the Porsche Design sub second clock as I couldn't bare the giant second hand with cheap digital clock inset. I'm into watches so just had to tick that box!

We have the same eye for detail. I too am optioning the absurdly priced Porsche Design clock, only because I find the sub second clock so cheap and tacky looking, especially that digital display!

Plus it's always in eye-view.
