Morning

i have a line direct into Porsche UK. 18 months is optimistic at best. I’ll be 18 months + by the time mine appears - best case scenario having ordered not long after you. The issue for me the is to wait for MY24 which could be when the facelift appears.
MY change crossed my mind too but that decision may well be made for me (us) depending on when an allocation arises. If it goes beyond Jun'23 then I'll try for MY24 which should be announced around then. I'm sure there is some voodoo at play with the allocation game and dealers aren't 100% transparent on this. Not convinced I could hedge / slip a few months to ensure an MY24 without a guaranteed slot.

Next year will be chaos anyway given the focus will be on Macan EVs and interesting to see how Porsche copes with the inevitable tsunami of orders and the consequence this may have on Taycans.

yes, very good point. They aren’t able to cope with the Taycan demand. I expect the Macan orders will surpass them. I’m not convinced on the transparency of allocation/ orders either.

My hunch is there will be a flurry of allocations Q4/Q1.

Porsche know many customers will start cancelling into 2023 owing to recession, too long a wait, and luxury marques announcing their next EVs.

So they will go into overdrive delivering on orders.

Porsche are all about maximising revenue. They are very clever. Look at their pricing/options strategy.

They will see this coming and do something about it.

I also expect cancellations to start happening towards end of this year as recession/cost of living bites, or people just get bored waiting with no news. That will see me moved down the list, as another predication I am banking on.

For that reason, I'm playing poker with Porsche and holding.

Possible problem with MY24 cars will be the mandatory speed limiter. It will depend how Porsche implement this as to how annoying it might turn out to be. Of course I keep to the speed limit all of the time, but it might annoy some people

Perhaps but if they don't have the parts to build a complete car then that may not play out in practice.

We already have that on the Taycan and it is user configurable since 2020.

But from July 2024 it will default to being on when you turn the car on. Hopefully it will be easy to turn off if required

It already is simple - just push the button on the left hand stalk to bring up the menu.

We all coped with Auto Stop / Start and even a handy on / off button was provided so I don't see this as being different.

I do have a major issue with the reliability (and therefore safety) of the technology as I've noticed signage errors (picked up by the cameras which is part of the limit tech) on a motorway which would dramatically reduce the cars speed from 70mph to 40 / 30 mph at random. For this reason alone mine will always be 'off'.

The Porsche is my first car in life. When I was sixteen years old, I saw a Porsche 911 at my neighbor's house, and even then I was fascinated by this miracle of invention. And I immediately started saving up for my first car. Unfortunately, it was not quick. I saved up little by little, and sometimes I had to take money out of the piggy bank when critical situations in life happened. But at one point my friends introduced me to the casino and began to immerse me in this world, where huge money rolls around. And so I literally saved up for my first car, my Porsche, in half a year. Thanks to https://1houseofpokies.com/login login this process went very quickly and I am so happy now to go on a trip in my beautiful.
