Not too surprising. I don’t mind failures occurring but it’s the time it takes to fix them which bothers me. My car was down four months this year for a battery cell fix.

I've accepted my fate - if the car is worth less than 50K by the time I need to dispose it, I'll just put it in storage somewhere and use it for the rare times I need a larger vehicle.

To be fair, the GTS is so brilliant as a daily driver that it's easy to imagine keeping the car for the long haul. Depreciation is irrelevant if you don't sell!

I think I would have purchased my 2020 off lease if I had more confidence in the annoying issues getting fixed like the lost LTE connection and home charging problems. I did not experience the heater problem and my battery was okay for the three years.

Not a great accolade My first 18 months of ownership was great, trouble free motoring, however, the last 9 months have not gone so well with c. 11 weeks in the dealership fixing problems. Combination of new tech in a complex car and inexperienced technicians.

Just coming up to the six month mark with my Taycan. No issues which have required a dealer visit. A post Webasto issue car, albeit a one month delay at the end of production for a new heater unit. But the interface and connectivity continues to be a bit glitchy, hopefully nothing that a good software upgrade can’t fix.

Ahh, the optimism of a newer Taycan owner.
I'm almost 3 years in, and that optimism has faded. Meaningful updates are few and far in between, and they haven't done much to address the lagginess and bugs.

I definitely have mixed feelings on this subject. I've had some relatively minor issues and it appears it is just a matter of time until my heater goes (works fine right now!)..BUT..this is the best car I have ever owned so I will likely hang on (and get the extended warranty) and enjoy it ! (fingers crossed)

Yeah. It is probably the simplest active part in the car. The size of a small textbook, no moving parts. Electricity in, some power control, and hot water out. Webasto has a long history of providing heaters to car, truck, and RV, and boat manufacturers. Porsche would check that design choice as done. The EV application for Webasto was perhaps at higher voltage than their other mature designs, and Porsche gets a reliability hit.

The test also takes the time to repair in account. Polestar 2 also has many problems (42% vs 46% with Taycan) but most of them are taken care of within a day and all under warranty. An let’s say unlucky choice of heater and 22 kWh on board charge are one thing but they are not able to handle the problems correctly within a reasonable time.

I have had a lot of trouble with my car with PCM, communication, heater issue and lately battery failure. But I agree that the car is one of the best I have owned.

I find the lack of communication from Porsche about any updates for the app or the car very irritating. Any smart phone or tablet, computer will advise when there is an update. MyPorsche app has lost the ability to turn on seat heating in the place I want. It’s gone since a few updates. Why?

Just now I have had a lot of issues with communicating with the car via the app or the website. And the car is in extremely good coverage, but it is roaming to Sweden, perhaps that is an issue. When contacting Smartmobility I get all kind of excuses, but no solution. The latest excuse is that my car has two new updates which should be applied at the dealer, WMP5 and WPN8. That should address some of my issues they state. My dealer however is 2800 km away!

Why is there no notification in the app nor in the car that there are updates available???
Why have two cryptic letter combination without any description about what the update contains?
Where dig all the OTA updates disappear? I do not think I have had a single OTA update apart from Map updates. We did get an update where all this was promised.

Are these showing up on the My Porsche website or was this something that was just verbally communicated to you? I ask, because here in Ireland I've never seen an "update available" on the site or app.
