Brake Hose Recall: Porsche Dealer does not return car after service...

My car was towed to the dealer for an internal charger replacement which was faulty. Now dealer is not allowed to return the car until the brake hose replacement is done. Unfortunately the brake hoses are on backorder w/out delivery date.....
Any similar experiences?

I had my rear tires replaced two weeks ago and they said there's a brake hose recall, but they didn't have the parts. So they gave me the car back after they performed the necessary service. This is in California.

I travelled to Germany this summer and my car was service due. Our local dealers were fully booked so I tried to ask if it’s possible to do service in one of German dealers. One of them advised strongly against that as there is a hose recall and my car would have been hostaged there.

holding the car for a "safety" recall even when presented to service for a different service request sounds like a "german" road safety regulations issues - as noted this behavior varies regionally and is not universally the same world wide.

when I called for the brake hose replacement and got an appointment in September, i asked if i could come within the week to check if all looks fine before taking the car for a long trip.
It took them 1hr and they let me go

Booked my car in for brake hose recall. Was told all parts were in stock. That was on Monday. Today Tuesday they emailed me to collect the car as parts were actually not available No eta for them. Car was checked and was told it was safe !

mine had an MoT (statutory road worthiness test in the UK) and was handed back with the brake hose recall outstanding, holding hostage must be a German thing. Push for a loaner if you don't already have one from the charger failure.

In Europe dealers are not allowed to return cars from service if there are active sales stop campains, like this break hose, active on the car.

I guess Spain does not abide by European rules, as my car has been in three times and is number one on the list for the hose change as it is the Taycan with most mileage sold by my dealer, 83,000 kms. They have inspected the brakes and hoses and said it is fine for now. I left on a three week trip and left the car as the heater recall part failed, the PCM was replaced due to unexplained anomalies with the functioning of the phone and awaiting parts for the brake hoses, expected this week.

They may be making decisions based on an inspection of the hoses, if they are worn or leaking it would be expected you don’t get the car back.

It is a piss poor situation for Porsche to find themselves in but to make 151k sets of brake hoses of varying sizes at short notice will not be easy.

The hoses differ between models, probably just in length though.
It seems they are replacing the saloon car pipes first, my CT had been booked in for the pipe replacement on 2nd August but they phoned me on the 1st to say thay hadn't been supplied with CT part number pipes yet.

Are they required to provide same or better loaner? Or can they hold onto the car for an unspecified amount of time, or worse, start charging the customer for storing the vehicle?
