Hi,

I have an odd problem with my 2022 Cross Turismo and want to see if anyone else has this issue.

If I have the PCM search for a charging station it will report no results found when I have selected Porsche Charging Service selected. I want it in this mode since I still have free charging from Porsche.

If I try DC Only it then finds nearby Electrify America, EV Go, etc stations.

if I try All Stations the PCM does find All Stations but again this isn't what I want

Finallly, if I Say Hey Porsche find me Electrify America Charging Stations that does work.

Any ideas???

Please help us understand what you mean by "free charging from Porsche". The free charging is with Electrify America. Anything else, that is a Porsche Charging Service is a dealer and none to my knowledge allow to just plug and charge as it requires a key card from someone to activate assuming the permission is given. I am a VIP with my dealer and I need to ask permission, ask someone to get the card, make sure charger slot is not taken, then charge, what a pain...and we have plenty of EA stations in town to use. If you know of a dealer, anywhere, that is just pull up and charge, please share.

I know this is not answering your question. I am happy to go to the car now and try to replicate what you are seeing and why you are not getting any charging stations.

Ok...I tried it, all works as expected for me, see examples. I am happy run specific example if you suggest, and may be share your Filter screen and Results.

Nav -> Charging Icon screen
Filter: Porsche Charging Service and From 250kW
Result: Shows only EA stations with 250kW+ rating as expected as they support Plug & Charge
Dealer: Not shown as expected since they do not provide pull up and charge service

Nav -> Charging Icon screen
Filter: From 150kW Only
Result: Shows all stations with 150kW+ rating EA, EVGo, and Pilot
Scope: Results shown appear that are located inside the Range bubble as expected

Yes you are correct the charging is thru Electrify America but when I bought the car in 2022 I got 3 years of charging paid for by Porsche.

Additionally it is set up that I can just plug in the car at an Electrify station and it goes through the connection process and will say payment authorized.

Hope that makes sense. Still doesn’t answer why the PCM won’t find the charging stations unless I’m using the trip planner

thanks

EA charging with Plug and Charge is paid by Porsche for 3 years is standard for 2020-2024 models.

I would say, share some screen shots of what you are doing, as something is not adding up. I spelled out the examples above and everything works as expected. Standard Map view shows charging stations automatically and the Nav -> Charging icon view show what you set the Filter is set to, so if the Filter is not correctly set then you will see the results you are looking for.

Porsche Charging Service is not limited to a Porsche garage but rather any providers who are affiliated to the Porsche service of which there are many.

Use the app to list any and all. Use the PCM to do similar.

Possible issue is the option to prioritise the Porsche Charging Service which if set will limit other EVSE locations.. I typically deselect this option.

I tried it on the App and I see where the confusion may be.

- There is no such a thing in the US as Porsche Charging Service equivalent to MB, Rivian, and other makers that brand their charging stations.

- PCM when filtering by Porsche Charging Service shows EA stations which is what Porsche has included with J1 I cars for 3 years at no cost.

- App when filtering by Porsche Charging Service does not show any stations at all. This means to me that the App is tuned to a European system looking for specifically Porsche provided service stops.

The OP to me needs to be clear that Porsche Charging Service = (means) Electrify America charging stations in the US that provide Plug & Charge and paid by Porsche to use for 3 years.

Hi, Please see the attached pictures. Note when I got the car about 3 years ago you could just do a search in the nav systems for nearby charging stations now this doesn't work. Yes I know I can use the Electrify America or other providers apps but that is not the point.

Also If I say Hey Porsche find nearby Electrify America stations the car will find them.

This is not the biggest problem but it is annoying.

Thanks

I am sorry, I am still confused what you are trying to do that does not work. My example earlier, finds EA stations that are free.

Why would this not get you what you want?

Nav -> Charging Icon screen
Filter: Porsche Charging Service and From 250kW
Result: Shows only EA stations with 250kW+ rating as expected as they support Plug & Charge

I know this is over a year old, but did you stop subscribing to the Porsche Connect app at the time?
