I wonder if you get ARB6 if you have your car in privacy mode all the time -then you take it in to your dealer, then they just take it out of privacy mode and leave it for a few days so it can ‘phone home’, like all ARB7 vehicles, then they turn privacy mode back on and give it you back! Which would mean there isn’t any difference - just one can’t phone home until a dealer lets it!
Data sharing has been allowed since I got the car. Privacy mode is definitely off. Two different things and separately enabled/disabled in the PCM. Both were set to allow remote access. I got ARB7 in the mail yet the dealer's system showed ARB6. From the way the recall notice and service bulletin read my car should have fallen under ARB7, yet upon visiting the dealer that was not the case. Kind of makes me think no one who hasn't paid a very recent visit to the dealer falls under ARB6.

No mention of WRS0 or WRS1 on documents at NHTSA website. Both - primarily WRS0 - are mentioned in posts by Taycan owners in Germany.
Still no remedy TSB for ARB6 & ARB7 posted at NHTSA.

I received a letter from Porsche Sweden last week, dated December 6th, with the following text regarding service action WRS0 (scanned and OCR'ed on iPhone and then google translated from Swedish to English):

Dear customer,

Porsche AG is continuously monitoring its vehicles on the market. As a result, cases have been discovered where a short circuit in the high-voltage battery has occurred in vehicles of the Taycan type. This has led to the vehicle catching fire, which can increase the risk of personal injury or material damage.

What will we do?
Your vehicle will receive optimized battery diagnostic software that will in future display deviations in the high-voltage battery directly as a warning message in the vehicle. This software is expected to be available from the first quarter of 2025. Until then, the affected vehicles must be monitored. In the event of identified deviations, the affected battery modules must be replaced.

Your high-voltage battery will be monitored online. Analysis logs are transmitted to us via your vehicle at regular intervals. The prerequisite for this is that online transmission is activated, that the vehicle is not in private mode and that it must be connected to the internet at least every 30 days for a continuous period of 4 minutes. Otherwise, your vehicle will have to be transferred to a recall campaign and the data reconciliation required for this monitoring will have to be carried out at regular intervals at your Porsche Center. This would take approximately 3 hours each time.

If deviations in the battery require the affected battery modules to be replaced, this action will take approximately 5 days to complete. The spare parts required for this are already available.

If you wish, your Porsche Center will be happy to assist you with a replacement vehicle for the duration of the repair.

What should you do?
Please contact your Porsche Center / Porsche Service Center to book a suitable time for the action. See contact details at the end of this letter.

The above actions will of course be carried out free of charge for you.

We regret the circumstances surrounding this problem.

If you are no longer the owner of this vehicle, please write the name and address of the new owner on this letter and return it to your Porsche Center or Porsche Service Center free of charge. We will then inform the current owner.

Kind regards, Porsche Sweden
I had ARB7 carried out in August and were then told that there were no other outstanding service actions for my car (a 2023 Taycan GTS Sport Turismo, which according to registered data was manufactured in October 2022 and then registered in Sweden on November 30th). Will report back here when I've had the car in for WRS0...

@Emm thanks for sharing text of WRS0 letter.
If you contact your dealer, it would be good to know what the difference is between ARB7 and WRS0.
Also, the WRS0 letter you received does not seem to make it clear whether you should wait until 1st quarter 2025 for another contact, or whether you should book an appointment now.
Let us know what eventually happens.

Just fyi I received a similar WRS0 letter today, dated today 19 December from Porsche GB Ltd.

it differs in the wording in parts: around what happens if there is a battery fault found, and it doesn’t mention parts being available!
It also mentions they will contact me when the software is available to be installed in Q1 2025.

I’ll try to share a copy to tomorrow.

WRS0 workshop campaign
Checking high-voltage battery cell modules and installing battery diagnosis software

Porsche AG continuously monitors its vehicles on the market. As part of this product monitoring, cases have come to light in which a short circuit within the high-voltage battery has occurred in vehicles of the Taycan type, subsequently causing the vehicle to catch fire. This situation can also increase the risk of injury or material damage if it occurs.

What are we going to do?
Your vehicle will receive optimised battery diagnostic software that will in future display abnormalities in the high-voltage battery directly as a warning message in the vehicle. This software is expected to be available from the first quarter of 2025. Until then, affected vehicles must be monitored. In the event of any identified abnormalities, affected battery modules must be replaced.

Your high-voltage battery will be monitored on the basis of online monitoring. Error analysis logs a/ transmitted to us by your vehicle at regular intervals.
The prerequisite for this is that the online transmission of fault analysis logs is activated, the vehicle is not in Privacy mode and it must be connected to the Internet at least every 30 days over a continuous period of 45 minutes.

Otherwise, your vehicle must be transferred to a recall campaign and the data reconciliation required for this monitoring must be carried out at regular intervals at your Porsche Centre. This would take around 3 hours per review.
In the event of a fault, the affected battery modules of the high voltage battery of your Porsche Taycan will be replaced as a precaution.
The action will take place at your preferred Authorised Porsche Centre and is of course free of charge.

Your centre will discuss with you any requirements regarding the provision of replacement transport while your own vehicle is being repaired, if you so wish.

What should you do?
Please ensure that your vehicle is not in Privacy mode and is connected to the Internet at least every 30 days over a continuous period of 45 minutes.

Once the software is available, expected in the first quarter of 2025, we will send you a further notification. Therefore, allowing you to contact your Porsche Centre in a timely manner to discuss how to proceed and to arrange the necessary appointment for this software update. This measure will naturally be carried out free of charge for you.

We very much regret the circumstances associated with this issue for you.
If you no longer own the vehicle, please provide us with the name and address of the new owner on this letter directly and send it postage paid to your Porsche Centre or Porsche Partner. We will inform the current owner of the vehicle accordingly.

My letter arrived in the post this morning for the WRS0.
It’s good to hear Porsche are actively tracking this and while it might be a slight inconvenience if it needs to go in for an update, it gives me another excuse to browse the showroom.

in Germany currently a lot of owners get a 2 page letter for a recall named WRS0 that deals with battery monitoring and avoiding potential battery shortcuts and fire which is signed by two Porsche gentlemen

Mr. X. Danger
Mr. R. Waldbrenner (which means forest burner in german)

you can't make this stuff up...

Thanks for posting this.
I'm wondering if the only significant difference between WRS0 (issued to owners in UK and Germany and Sweden) and ARB7 (issued to owners in US) is that WRS0 is described in the letter as a "workshop campaign" and ARB7 is described in its letter as a "recall campaign".
The WRS0 letter even mentions that "Otherwise, your vehicle must be transferred to a recall campaign".

Is it better to have your car subjected to a workshop campaign than having it recalled?

Postman in the UK is busy with Porsche letters this week. That's mine arrived today as well, WRS0.

Mine is booked in for ARB5 on the 6th Jan, and I get the feeling I may not see the car again for some time after, so not worrying too much about this one for now. However, does anyone know how to connect the car to the internet?

Could this be done by connecting to iPhone Wi-Fi hotspot?

My letter arrived today. I referred to it while navigating the PCM. Privacy disabled seems like an obvious setting, but I didn't see anything directly corresponding to "online transmission of fault analysis logs is activated"- I'm guessing that the anonymous and personalised data transfer options enable that?
As for the minimum connection period to the Internet, is that satisfied by simply having the car "on" for a continuous 45 mins at least once every 30 days?

2022 CT4S.
WRS0 also received today. I didn't think you could connect the Taycan to the internet, but maybe they mean via LTE?
Helpfully my LTE connectivity has packed up, so I guess that means they won't get my requested data and I'll get bumped onto the ARB5 list. Not sure i want that as then you get the max 80% charge via 1km charging cable to the field you have to keep your car in!

I wonder if they'll prioritise getting my car into the service centre to get the LTE connectivity sorted to accommodate, as my local garage seems to run on about 6 weeks+ lead time. I wonder.

Where the letter states the car should be connected to the internet for 45 mins at least once every 30 days, does that mean switched on/being driven, or just not in privacy mode and somewhere with signal?

over the winter months mine is unlikely to do a 45 min journey as we dont travel as much or use our other car.

Good question. No one outside of Porsche really knows.
When a Taycan is switched off, it is "connected to the internet" since that connection is how remote commands from the app are received.
But is that "connection to the internet" while the car is switched off sufficient for successful collection and upload of vehicle and battery data to Porsche? No one here actually knows.
