I'm within 1 month of 4 years since buying my Taycan 4s. Love the car and plan to keep it so I'm checking out pricing for Extended Warranty from Porsche.

I think I've found all the relevant posts in this Forum, but most of them discuss pricing from 2023 or 2024. The most recent is from @wmras showing pricing purchased from Porsche Beaverton in Oregon. (Link here)

I was just at my local dealer and they are quoting $6,976 for 96mo/$250 deductible, and I'm curious if that is a competitive price from Porsche Financial Services (PFS) out not. If you could share your US-based pricing with me that would be very helpful (feel free to DM me if you prefer).

I plan to pull the trigger in 3 weeks and your help is appreciated ?

NOTE - Apparently the price associated with the unused portion of the coverage period is refundable.

I checked out the warranties sold by the Porsche dealerships and ended up going with XCelerate Auto (XCare). No claims yet, but I experienced great communication when I was researching them, and they are familiar with warranty needs specific to EVs.

If you purchase the warranty from a local dealer. When a service is needed, does it covered by this dealer only, or any Porsche dealer in NA?

No, that is not a competitive price from PFS.
Because it is not from PFS.
It is a price from an independently owned Porsche dealership, serving as a sales agent for Safe-Guard, which is licensed by some PCNA and/or PFS to use the Porsche name in its vehicle service contract (not an extended warranty).

As for whether the price is competitive, the only way to know is to contact three or so other dealers and obtain their quotes. I expected you'll find at least a grand in range.
You might find your local dealer willing to price match.
I just told my dealer of a quote about a grand lower, and they matched it w/o any haggling.
(Maybe I should have made up a lower figure instead!)

Alternatively, you could obtain quotes on-line from a similar plan here:
https://steingoldvolvocars.factoryprotect.com/get-free-online-quote.html
Note that the time periods work differently for Safe-Guard vs Fidelity, so be sure to compare apples to apples.
I ended up going with Safe-Guard on the idea (correct or otherwise!) that a plan sold via the dealership would be more likely to be honored by that dealership.

It's just the standard Safe-Guard plan with the Porsche name, honored (so we hope!) everywhere (including indies).
Each dealer seems to have wide latitude in pricing though.

Given how expensive any repairs are on the car, that's not a terrible price

I tried the link you suggested and was shocked to see the prices higher than the Dealer. Does this make sense to you @Jonathan S. ??

The description on my dealer quote is "EV Plat VSC - In Warranty - 96 MO/$250 Deductible, Term 60,000" (w/cost $6,976), and it appears the reference point seems to be line 3 in the image below.

Careful - the Fidelity coverage starts TODAY, whereas the Porsche VSP coverage starts on the original in-service date. Big difference. A 48-month from Fidelity would be closer. For $11K you'd be getting coverage out to 2033! That's one problem with Fidelity, you'd be getting double coverage (wasted) unless you buy on the last week of the factory warranty.

Doesn't do you any good, but I got that exact VSP for $3490 from a midwest dealer at the end of March. They were having a sale - probably to make some sales quotas for the month.

Perhaps I'm entering something wrong. Here is what I'm getting for 48 MO --

Yep. Mine is the same and got it for under $3,600. Shop around! Dealers have a lot of flexibility on this. I suggest trying Newport Beach Porsche and Chandler AZ Porsche. The warranty itself is good at any dealership.

Anything is possible these days for price increases!

Back in December I received an email that claimed:
"Fidelity is raising their rates drastically for 2025, so we will want to get you signed up for coverage before the end of the month!"
... so perhaps that wasn't just a sales tactic!

BTW, that email was from "TGibson" at:
https://www.highline-autos.com/
... and the email address is formatted as would be expected.
Although the pricing will be almost the same as that Volvo dealer with the on-line quotes.

And remember this (from that same email as above):
"[...] repairs accepted at all Porsche dealerships and licensed independents in the US/Canada, let me know if you have any question Porsche's offerings are from the vehicle's in service date, you need to subtract 4 years / 50K miles from whatever terms the Porsche dealership is providing to get their true extended warranty coverage."
Of course it's not really a warranty, but the main point is how the Porsche-brokered plan spec is for total/cumulative time and mileage, whereas Fidelity goes by incremental.

Also pay close attention to the deductible. I suspect that $250 in the screenshot (as opposed to $500) is driving up the cost.
