I'm within 1 month of 4 years since buying my Taycan 4s. Love the car and plan to keep it so I'm checking out pricing for Extended Warranty from Porsche.

I think I've found all the relevant posts in this Forum, but most of them discuss pricing from 2023 or 2024. The most recent is from @wmras showing pricing purchased from Porsche Beaverton in Oregon. (Link here)

I was just at my local dealer and they are quoting $6,976 for 96mo/$250 deductible, and I'm curious if that is a competitive price from Porsche Financial Services (PFS) out not. If you could share your US-based pricing with me that would be very helpful (feel free to DM me if you prefer).

I plan to pull the trigger in 3 weeks and your help is appreciated ?

NOTE - Apparently the price associated with the unused portion of the coverage period is refundable.
One option: buy the 2 year CPO extension from Porsche..I was able to do that thru my dealer (I was surprised that I was able to do that but liked the idea of a real factory warranty for 2 more years)

Anything is possible these days for price increases!

Back in December I received an email that claimed:
"Fidelity is raising their rates drastically for 2025, so we will want to get you signed up for coverage before the end of the month!"
... so perhaps that wasn't just a sales tactic!

BTW, that email was from "TGibson" at:
https://www.highline-autos.com/
... and the email address is formatted as would be expected.
Although the pricing will be almost the same as that Volvo dealer with the on-line quotes.

And remember this (from that same email as above):
"[...] repairs accepted at all Porsche dealerships and licensed independents in the US/Canada, let me know if you have any question Porsche's offerings are from the vehicle's in service date, you need to subtract 4 years / 50K miles from whatever terms the Porsche dealership is providing to get their true extended warranty coverage."
Of course it's not really a warranty, but the main point is how the Porsche-brokered plan spec is for total/cumulative time and mileage, whereas Fidelity goes by incremental.

Also pay close attention to the deductible. I suspect that $250 in the screenshot (as opposed to $500) is driving up the cost.
Excellent advice.

Here is what I've discovered so far for my car (28,500 miles). Not exactly equal in terms of deducible and coverage term - but close --

  • Local Porsche Dealer - EV PLAT VSC - In Warranty - 96 MO (sum of original warranty and added coverage) /$250 Deductible, Term Miles 60,000 -- Cost $6,976
  • Fidelity - EV PLAT VSC - 48 MO/$250 Deductible, Term Miles 60,000 -- Cost - $8,362
  • Xcelerate (EV Insurance) - Full comprehensive coverage for your EV, which includes the High Voltage Battery & Drive Unit. - 48 MO/$100 Deductible, Term Miles 75,000 -- Cost - $5,979

I'm currently negotiating with the Dealership and we'll see what they come up with. The Xcelerate is very interesting so I may dig deeper into the claims process, etc. The fact that they cover the HV Battery is different.

I believe from several sources that Fidelity does provide products for HV battery coverage.

I obtained a good quote from Xcelerate but didn't pursue it any further since I couldn't find out much info on them. At least Safe-Guard won't be entirely shocked at some of these Taycan repair bills since the company has experience with pricey Porsche repairs. By contrast, for some of these other service plan companies, a typical Taycan repair probably costs more than the median value of their covered vehicles!
I still have all my quotes HERE although the spreadsheet is somewhat messy. But provides a good feel for the range even of identical plans from Safe-Guard just via different dealers.

I used Porsche San Antonio, best price I found at the time 4/60k $250 deduct ~$4.5k This price was in February and brought me to my battery warranty end date.

edit: looking at the warranty it’s 96months from in service date and 60k miles. I think of it as 4 year extension. Platinum.

Wow! Great price. I wonder if they would talk to me?

Can you send me a Point of Contact with phone?

Thanks for this info! When did you buy the contract?

I'm beginning to think that pricing has gone up significantly in 2025, and I might not be able to negotiate to the $4372 price, but if you received that price recently that would be good news ?

You can negotiate it down. I have the same plan and paid less than $5K for it.

Another option to consider is Hendrick’s Autoguard. I bought a 48mo/60Kmile/100 ded policy for my 2021 4S a month or so ago. It was under $4K, but that was a friends and family rate. Not sure what a retail price would be.

I have not yet called them for a quote, but this company specializes in EV warranties:

myev.com .

I will be looking myself for quotes in November.

Thank you for posting this. This schedule is in line with what I paid, also in California. Folks often post that they are able to get pretty deep discounts from the above numbers (which also depend on the age and mileage of each vehicle) but I couldn't find any dealers who will reliably/openly offer such discounts.
