Day 6 observations:
  • On a local 1/4 mile stretch of straight road with a slight decline, my old Turbo S (with 21” wheels) always needed some accelerator pedal to maintain a steady 50mph. On this road today, my GT (with 21” wheels) made it from top to bottom at a constant 50mph with no accelerator pedal needed. (Cruise control was not enabled). Seems as if rolling resistance truly has been reduced!
  • Braking energy recuperation seems to be working :)

Day 7 observations:
  • The cabin heater seems less effective than I am used to. Anyone else notice a difference between old and new? I read that the new models use a heat pump, and without knowing much about said pump, maybe I am going to have to set the temperature higher - Nnnnnoooooooo ?
  • I haven’t had chance to give it some wellie yet, but the 200 or so miles driving I have done so far have been great. I think I’ll keep it.

Do you have the ventilated seats?

I've noticed that I'm setting my cabin temp a couple degrees warmer. Heating seems less aggressive than J1.

New Year`s gift

I received my car new the day before New Year`s Eve.
I`m really satisfied, compaired to my old Turbo S (2020 model).
A lot of big and small changes.
In my opinion, Porsche has done a great job with the new version.

What are your thoughts after 8k miles?
Car is getting quicker it feels like, still not as quick midrange as Plaid or Sapphire in particular.
Still have trouble recognizing my phone, sometimes instantly, other times can take a few minutes.
The range is terrible, barely over 100 miles although to be honest I have a HFS.
I am getting tired of the “smallness” of the car, at 6’4” I prefer larger cars for daily driving, Taycan feels like a 4 dr 911.
I think I will trade it for the new AMG electric when it arrives.

Upgrading it to the full 1157hp full time will put it between the Sapphire and the Plaid over 60mph.

It's definitely not living room experience like the Sapphire with that large interior.
4 door 911 is the perfect description

I’m not familiar with that upgrade, can you tell me more about it?

Porsche lied.

The Taycan GT does not make 1033 PS in launch control.
It makes 1170 PS already stock. Increasing beyond that is not possible, since it's already unlimited from factory just as the J1.1 Turbo S was.

All other modes are correct. And the power can be increased to 1170 PS in all modes.

Rear inverter has base torque limit of 830 Nm and when the launch bit is set, it gets to... wait for it... 833 Nm. Yep, 3 Nm more maximum torque.
The front inverter though (and I suspect that is the same case for the Turbo S) has 70Nm more in launch mode instead of 40Nm like on the J1.1. So 400 base (unchanged from pre-FL), but 470 Nm in launch.

This means a total possible launch torque for the Turbo GT of 1303 Nm and the Turbo S of 1158 Nm.

Will plot the charts and update the data on the website, since the first Weissach has been logged and tuned now.
Should hopefully get my hands on a Turbo S soon as well (or an RS Performance), and get the actual data from that as well.
