US is back to being Porsches biggest market, I dont see how the Taycan will be coming here in any volume.
Between tarrifs, low sales, no government incentives and CAFE being dismantled, why even import the Taycan?
Porsche's biggest market was/is Europe. Just add Europe and Germany together.

I’m curious about the new SUV “prestige”. Cayenne GT already competes (IMO) with Lambo Urus. How can Porsche top that?

DeLorean of the 2020s...
I consider the Taycan one of best mass-production vehicles ever built although it looks like the Chinese are going to make that distinction short lived. As far as luxury EVs going the way of the DeLorean ... won't happen but clearly the Trump effect is delaying the inevitable significantly.

If adding Germany to Europe, then NA is the 2nd biggest, which still leads to why would Taycan be imported to the US at all
To be able to screw up US Porsche dealers somehow.

TBH, I think it’s incredibly short-sighted. Every week I see more and more EVs on the road in my town and the parking garage at the train i take into the city is filled with more EVs than ever. Public charging has never been easier. Where Porsche has failed is in price - the high-end of the premium EV market is likely stagnant but other segments seem to be doing well. The Taycan is still the best-looking sedan on the road and I love mine. Maybe Porsche grew too fast, too quickly, but I think this will be viewed as a long-term strategic error and they’ll have to play catch-up (again) instead of leading.

Ageed....I recall that the Cayman took a bit of a beating at introduction.
Now it's successor, the 718, is flying off the dealers' showrooms.

Porsche will have a winner with a mid-priced(by Porsche standards) electric sports car.
Currently, there is no competition in that category....a Boxster for the 21st Century

Would be great to have the best tech in a Porsche, but I don’t buy them thinking I’ll get a Tesla experience. I buy for the design, the driving experience, craftsmanship and brand. Porsche might benefit from getting back to core principles - imagine an EV platform that hides the damn SW/electronics and gives a traditional driving experience with just the new powertrain (quiet/quick/smooth). I like the driving characteristics of an EV - give me one with buttons/knobs/dials and NO screens. I would pay more to manually roll up my windows, adjust my mirrors, move my seat and put a key in the door to unlock.
Nobody want T junk experience. No buttons, no service and no quality! That is scary!

Porsche and the German industry need to focus on what your kids want, not what you want. You might have the money today to buy the old stuff, but your kids are the customers they need to get in order to survive!

My kids would never buy a porsche, because it does not drive with a phone or an AI or any other new gadget coming along!
