I hope this makes it to the Taycan, but probably won't happen until there is a J2. Finally enough screen size to the main display to be useful. The map can be big enough to make out at a glance and still display other info. I know ... "I didn't buy a Taycan to look at the screens." But a lot of us who bought a 4 door sedan, not a 911, do want that functionality. Nice improvement by Porsche.

Is the HW and SW architecture the same as before, ie with all the 100 ECU’s etc.

Or is it a newdesign like BMW iX3 showed?

I've spent a few hours checking out the new Cayenne, the large display is a big upgrades from current ones, but the performance is still the same. The new Cayenne feels like a jacked up Taycan.

Supposedly less ECUs, but not a dramatic change. Same as Macan EV.

K1, the bigger SUV from porsche, was scheduled to be the first porsche using the Rivian architecture. But that’s no longer happening, as it’s not longer an EV, and VW froze the deal with Rivian

I wish Taycan would have one larger display with some buttons like this, vs. the 2 separate screens.

I like both in a different way. Taycan makes me feel like I'm in a spaceship. Sitting low, screens around me, bit uncomfortable. Vehicle is a sporty family car. Cayenne on the other hand seems like a Boeing 777, cool glass-cockpit. High sitting position. Vehicle is a utility.

Neh, I just wanted more efficient use of screen real-estate(i.e. larger map/AppleCarPlay, lower screen is a bit of a waste of space) and some physical buttons (can't even operate heat with gloves on).

Ugh -- Porsche is really misreading the market in my opinion; I would like to see less screens and more timeless design with physical buttons, like this:
Porsche Taycan Revealed: Cayenne EV curved display screen, interior, PCM, infotainment 13915501

I want to see a beautiful interior with taste and minimalism -- not the latest tech trinket the engineers enjoy 🙃 (e.g. a curved screen or youtube integration etc).

For the Taycan too, it would have been much nicer to remove the bottom center screen completely and add a row of climate control buttons right under the center screen. This would also free space to have two normal cup holders and a better center storage compartment.

Actually with the great Oled driver screen I would almost argue the center screen is also too much and we could control everything right on the driver screen with steering wheel controls.... :)

So, the new Cayenne interior is a miss in my opinion -- Porsche should strive for beauty and stand out from the pack.

Now I'm convinced Porsche has pivoted towards Non-Western markets

Wealthier Chinese buyers love this setup for a daily/wife's car

It's a good change that matches the vibe of an EV
