Spotted a Mamba Green UK car in Alcudia, Mallorca this evening. A long way from home!

Maybe the owner has take it down to Mallorca for its maiden journey, like I did last summer. It was definitely worth the long driving adventure.

Was 35-37C and not a cloud in sight many of the days I was in Balearics last summer. Pre-cooling + having a white car definitely came in handy.

Phenomenal driving roads there, basically the same as the great cycling routes except for the lighthouse. Would love to bring mine there, drove there 3 or 4 times previously using the ferry from Barcelona.

Not so great in my manual 1.0 diesel golf hire car!.

Driving this car makes me realise I've gone through a bit of a transformation.

Years ago I swore I'd never drive an automatic. A bad experience in an Auto Ford Escort Estate, along with American hire cars caused me to make that statement.

After many years driving Auto BMWs I'd settled into automatics. But I swore I'd never ditch my ICE cars for EVs.

Now I have two (Mini and the GTS)!

Next time I say I'm never getting one of something I'm just going to cut to the chase and get one.

The greatest "issue" with being used to the Taycan build quality, comfort and responsiveness is that most other cars, especially ICEs, are slightly painful to drive for more than a few days.

The quality of the road network in Mallorca is second to none - no idea how they manage to resurface the roads with such incredible frequency and efficiency, but hey not complaining

Not sure how much tinting windows is legal here. It isn’t really a thing I have seen discussed and I don’t know anybody who has considered it or where you would go to get it done.

It's because cyclotourism is one of the biggest drivers of the economy there, especially away from the coast, and the perfect roads are what keep cyclists coming back so they maintain them to a ridiculous standard.

There was a great Henry Catchpole video in a Boxster several years ago doing Formentor and Sa Calobra on the back of his cycling trips there.

It's a fantastic experience taking a fun car around the Tramuntana mountain range.

I found a road that could use some repair . . . or not!

I don’t think I would trust myself with any Porsche in Mallorca. I would be too tempted all of the time to send it through these beautiful corners and narrow roads, but scared of bicyclists and oncoming cars.

I personally think that a short, narrow two-seater vintage convertible would be absolutely ideal here. But let’s be honest, when you are here, can you really go that wrong no matter your choice?
