When I purchased my car December of 2025, the turismo's were the only EV station wagon available in the US. I'm a mom and cart kids around, go to home Depot, Go skiing, camping and take long road trips.

The cross tourismo is like no other car out there. Just next week I leave for vacation through southern Utah where I'll drive long highway stretches, curvy Mountain roads and then take it off-road covering my mamba green Taycan in the red rock dust that Southern Utah's famous for.

It's the only car I know brilliantly drive on the way there as well as once you're there and do it quietly, cleanly and cheaply. Everyday when I turn it on. I'm so thankful I decided to buy it.

I blame my fellow Americans, who associates station wagons with fuddy duddies, So then they buy SUVs, which are arguably more dangerous and don't drive as well and then never take them off-road like I do. Shame.

I wanted to get the CT, badly, but eneded up ordering a Cayenne EV due in August. The CT rear seat was just a bit too compromised. If Porsche could package as well as Lucid, or even most other companies, the CT would have been a no brainer.

On another note I must not understand the expense to continue with a fully homologated variant. If there are no structural changes there shouldn't be any ongoing crash test cost and if the powertrain and aero are stable there shouldn't be ongoing emissions/economy testing costs. parts inventory should be unaffected since the 26's are the same. Thus it seems offering the CT in USA seems like it could be at no incremental cost but add a small amount of sales which helps lower build cost for all variants.

What expense am I missing?

I agree on this assessment. I am enjoying the last few years of the usability of my Sport Turismo. As my kids grow, they're rapidly growing out of the rear seats.

I myself likely am moving to the new iX5. It's difficult for me to pay $130k+ for the Cayenne EV. Recently I went to a BMW dealership and I have sticker shock (on how great of a value every car is there). I anticipate the iX5 to come in at around $85k for a well optioned one.

Related side story, everytime I do a "pick up" (FB Marketplace, food, etc), whereby I have to describe the car that I am in, I always say "white station wagon". Makes me sound like I'm driving a 1995 Volvo or something.

But many times the person sees the car and typically says "wow, that's quite a wagon!".

Porsche Axes the Gorgeous Taycan Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo - Car & Driver
In a statement to Car and Driver, the Porsche spokesperson explained the reasoning behind the discontinuation of the wagon variants following the 2026 model year. "Porsche focuses its product portfolio on the wishes of its customers, and in the United States, the Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo body styles of the Taycan played a minor role," he said. "It is for this reason that we have decided to discontinue these model variants."

Hahaha
I do the same. What do you drive, "an EV wagon".

Then when they show up....

So disappointed! Love my 2024 CT4, dealers were not given many allocations, so it’s no wonder not many sold. I play 20 questions with folks almost every time I stop to charge…

Hmm, something odd but perhaps positive as it appears the CT / ST models may survive outside USA as they (CT) have been removed from the USA configurator but remain listed on the UK / EU configurator. I would have expected a co-ordinated 'drop'.

All pricing has been removed from any Taycan variant however and so this either represents price changes imminently and / or stage 1 of dropping the CT / ST variants.

From the articles I've read over the last day or so, it appears the ST/CT being discontinued applies to North American. Canada and Europe appear not to be included here.

Obviously though that's no consolation to those in the US who love these cars.

Canada is North America ;).

Notably the Canadian market can only configure the 4S CT. (not sure if this is new or has been this way for a while).

I will note, I've been tracking GTS ST (only ST variant made for N. America), and Turbo/S CTs. There are a ton of cars out there that went out on their second leases in 2024, so expect a bunch of supply to come back into the market next year. Interestingly at the moment, there are not a lot of wagons on the market. Wondering if Porsche thinks there's going to be cannibilization from the new Cayenne EV. I admit, I'm considering it
