Replaced 2021 Taycan 4S with a 2026 model: What I like

I'm three weeks into my 2026 Taycan 4S after waiting about 7 months for delivery. Loved my 2021 Taycan 4S but wanted more range and to reset the warranty.

A few things that have made me happy:

• Great range. I charged yesterday to 90% and pulled out of my garage with 300 miles. I'm going a week on a charge now.
• Physical buttons. I really like having garage door buttons on the mirror vs mashing my screen.
• Steering wheel button. Small thing, but having a "skip" button on the steering wheel is so convenient. I hated smacking the screen to change songs with Android Auto
• Loving the "turbo boost" button for lane changing or a general speed boost. Kids get a kick out of the ten second countdown

2026 was worth the wait. Amazing car.

I know you are only three weeks in on the J1.2, but how do you find the NVH and noise level vs the J1.1? One of my biggest gripe is that my 2022 is a complete rattle trap (b-pillars, rear doors, trunk/rear seat). I don't mind the road noise, but car just doesn't sound solid. I have a 2026 Panamera 4 loaner right now (my other biggest gripe - reliablity -- my 2022 is in the shop 35-40% of the time I've owned it; purchased in March 2025), and it is so solid.

Is the PCM noticeably faster? That's my main gripe with the J1.1 cars - outdated PCM processing power/speed.

Yes! It's called Homelink--has its own icon in the PCM

No scientific evidence, but it seems quieter, and there's definitely no rattling from any part of the car. So far!

Doesn't feel like anything dramatic, but it's definitely snappy. No noticable lag at all.

I'll also note that regen seems more effective. I'll sometimes go 50 miles and only burn 25-30 miles of range.

Nope. You must have the Homelink option installed which leads to buttons on the rear view mirror (prior to this there were no buttons and relied on auto detection via a pop-up in the PCM). For either method there is a Homelink tile in the PCM.

Depending on your garage door opener brand you can access via CarPlay or Android Auto via the PCM - Horman for example works this way if you didn't option Homelink.

Even on J1.1 you could have just defined the steering wheel diamond button to skip, no? Or did they add a new button and still left all the others, like the diamond and regen control?

I think some of the confusion is it's standard in the US so we assume everyone has it. I didn't know until I read somewhere that it was an option in the UK
