I would love to see the authoritative source for this. I have always read that you should not let the battery sit (even overnight) at less than 20%. I have never read that you cannot or should not discharge below 20%. I have even read on this forum that one of the eleven certified battery techs in the US recommends letting the battery sit occasionally at 10%-15% as it will force the BMS to discover battery issue's that may go undetected if the battery is not monitored below 20% for some length of time.
Is forcing the BMS to discover battery issues (and potentially turn on the red warning - park car immediately) by discharging to 10 % and sitting a good thing you want to do, unless your car is located at Porsche dealer service?

No; you should try to avoid getting below 20% if at all possible to maximize battery life. While there is some question about whether charging to 100% is bad, there is very little dispute about whether this is.
To specify going below 20% is not a problem if the car is charged immediately/asap.
Using only 20-80% range is crazy.
Drive the car immediately if charged above 85% (timer), charge the car immediately if SOC goes below 20%.
Porsche Charging Planner almost always allows the SOC to go down around 10-15% on road trips, since the charge is faster if starting SOC is lower.

I have road trips every week and always go to 5-15% but my SOH is still fine (93,09%) after 27k km/15 months. Also charging above 90% on weekly basis with a timer.

I don't think this is true. Taycan navigation by default sets DCFC arrival target to 10%, SOC which is 50% less than your stated 20% SOC. I think the <20% applies to storing the car, just like the >85%.

I am no expert here, but my intuition tells me that any fault or error discovered would not be severe enough to brick the car or it would have already happened. But your point is a valid one, although I would rather be bricked in my garage than on the road.

Sitting overnight outside in the dealers lot, the car went from 0% to 1% and 1km to 3km in range. Good because I was already thinking how are they going to push it back into the shop ?

Neh, it's the secret moon power roof (hence your car recharged overnight).
I’m not too familiar with this, was this a stand alone option or part of the tech package? Not sure if was standard for my model year in the European market, will need to check my build sheet.

The internet is showing me it works something like the illustration below… Im not so technical, am I correct in my understanding?

Lightening rod charging is not available until at least 2025. They are still working out the kinks. Test drivers reported some minor issues.

Anyone get to these battery levels before topping off again? ?

I got home with 1% as I rolled into the garage at home - not planned or intentional but a school boy error and not paying attention to PIRM guidance - never again!

Cold sweat wouldn't describe it.

This is great news, there has got to be a liquor store within 3km of you and this is going to take a lot of wine to get this fixed.
I wonder if charging it to 100% caused this problem...?

I know, right? Had to be the one time two weeks ago I accidentally charged to 100%, then couldn’t discharge fast enough due to, well, you know, the wine situation and then the light rain the following morning. I’m still glad the thing didn’t explode, that was a close call!!

Folks, please, for the love of god, do not do the same thing I did. Only use the vehicle within the recommended 50-70% charge… don’t ever go over, don’t ever go under, no matter what the circumstance.

Called the dealer yesterday (Friday) afternoon and they ordered me a new 22kw onboard charger. They just couldn’t tell me when it will arrive.

Oh, and as of now, the car has gone from 3km to 4km in range in 24 hours. If it sits for another 3 weeks outside then it should have enough juice to drive it home.

Still don’t get it. You’re joking, right? I mean charging and using between 50-70%.

PS Are you sure they are not charging? It looks very much they’re using one of these -
