100% charge how long can you leave it

Hi,

I have had my Taycan for nearly 3 years and normally charge to 85%, if I do charge to 100% I always drive it immediately once it it fully charged, however I am wondering if its possible to leave it standing 100% for a couple of hours.

The logical is I have cheap overnight charging between 00:30 - 04:30 and I am going on a trip and plan to leave at 7am, therefore should I charge to 100% up until 04:30 and leave it standing, or only charge to 85% until 04:30 and have a second timer set for 100% at 07:00 ?

Of course you can!

Advice is to use some of the charge that day and to not leave the car 100% charged for days on end.

You have an 8 year battery warranty so don't stress it

I have to stop reading battery threads I think. Even just questioning leaving the car charged at 100% for a few hours is freaking me out. I've accidentally charged my car to 100% a few times and I definitely didn't hop in and circle the block for an hour. It seems there are more charging rule of thumbs than I have fingers for. I think I'm going to finally file battery health under "Don't worry guys, it's just a car" along with automatic car washes, slamming the doors, and eventually curbing a wheel just for my OWN mental health.

Also avoid if you can tire kicking ... or if you can't avoid it kick all four with the same force. I did that before buying the Taycan and it's made all the difference.

Maybe that will open the trunk!! Still working on it... Gotta say though, I must look prettttty hot doing a little jig behind my Porsche in the parking lot of a Little Caesars holding a stack of hot pizza boxes.

Way too much internet hysteria over this topic in general.

It is going to do no harm to the battery whatsoever charging it to 100%, or leaving it at 100% for a few hours/days/weeks etc (if that were the case, Porsche would prevent you from doing so - in the same way they have implemented charging profiles).

People will choose to think/believe what they are comfortable with and do what they want, which is fine. I'm sure there will be plenty of people responding to this telling me I'm wrong, but it's crazy that people complain about range on Taycan and then admit to only ever driving between 20 and 80% of the battery capacity.

The battery is fully warranted for a long time/huge number of miles. I make full use of the Taycan DC fast charge capability to 100% (it's a charging monster!) and regularly charge to this level at home (nature of the distances I need to drive) - my Taycan has been absolutely faultless, range consistently over 240 miles and I don't fret, just enjoy the car, its performance, the range (which is very good given the performance IMO) and the fast charge capability.

Enjoy the car, forget about the battery.

Very well said... it's far more important to enjoy the car than keep fretting about technology.... If we are brave enough to spend £100,000+ on a car, we must have some confidence in the manufacturer's ability to manage its sub-components....
