Activation of recuperation doesn't trigger an additional range estimate. One is not dependent on the other. This comes with miles added and higher ambient temperatures.I took delivery of my second Taycan, a 4S Sport Turismo (PB+ on 21 alloys) on 23 Dec 22. I was surprised by how low the range of 200 miles was given my first Taycan, a 4S Cross Turismo on 20 alloys which I took delivery of in January 2022 never showed a range below 230 (270+ during summer).
I found on this forum the issue of no regen until the brakes are bedded in and realised that the regen had started working on the CT straight away. I have been doing extra braking in the new ST since then and at 570 miles on Saturday the regen suddenly showed green on the power meter. I then recharged the car yesterday but the range is still only 195 miles.
Does anyone know if it takes time for the regen to build the range back up to something acceptable?
Correct!I’m coming up on 10k miles and I’m convinced that stuff like range mode, recuperation, etc. have only a small impact on range. Low temps and running the heater/defroster, on the other hand, seem to hammer range.
Agree. Since I started using recoup a lot, my range has gone down slightly. When I first got my car, I never used it and I got 7-10 miles more range. Similar temps.Recuperation - unless driving like a maniac uses more energy than it gives back in my experience. Coasting is better when able.
I totally agree, but over 11 months of owning a 4S CT with 20 in alloys my average was 2.9m/kwh, I'm not sure I'm going to see anywhere near that with this new 4S ST with 21 in alloys. By the way I'm not talking about the active regeneration in my first post, it was about the regeneration that happens under braking where you're not actually using the brake pads (up to a point) but the regenerative electric motor braking that shows up on the power meter as regen.I’m coming up on 10k miles and I’m convinced that stuff like range mode, recuperation, etc. have only a small impact on range.
