Got to get better as using the search function.
I actually used google to find that. For me, that thread is the first result when searching for “Taycan 50kW charging”. There are a couple of other related threads as well.

Watch Bjorne’s video that I posted above and you’ll see the same car, same 50 kW rapid returning two very different net charge efficiency results - from 82.5% into the car in the first attempt up (battery heater active and higher SoC) and later again with a warm battery (41C and lower 25% SoC) to 94.7% into the car, although he pulled it before the heater came back on after 15 mins. So huge difference based solely on SOC and heating up the battery or not.
Meh. A couple of individual short tests on a different car aren’t a great basis.

There’s a graph of max charge rate for SoC and temperature for the Taycan here:

https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...my-taycan-charge-as-fast-as-i-want-it-to.779/

Your video talks about using a 7kW heater to heat the battery to 40C. That doesn’t tell us what the Taycan does though. If the car can take 50kW or more for the given conditions, it would seem silly to waste energy on heat.

And it also doesn’t tell us what happens over a longer period of time. If the battery does need to be heated, then once that’s done it should take less energy to maintain.

Maybe we also just disagree on magnitude of words. My first post said it would be a little longer than an hour due to minimal losses. Maybe what I think of as a little and minimal isn’t the same for you. You call the difference between 85% and 95% from the video “huge”. Not the word I would use.

Ah good shout! I only use the forum search function before starting a new thread. Cheers. W.
