I am waiting for the probable avalanche reaction here :) but TBH, in my own personal experience I've had 100% success at 4 separate EA stations used to date (multiple times) - a very small sample but I suspect that many of the naysayers here are struggling with very specific location based issues with their EA networks and that of course we invariably get a bias towards negative experiences here in the Forum. This test was clearly in its own way also location specific to the NE and does not cover a lot of issues being reported here from CA, some southern States etc. The Plug and Charge experience really has to be the future ad I do hope more and more providers will replicate this.

Must not have been surveyed in the colder months…….Everyone I know who has a Tesla says it is flawless, every time…..just not sure how this review is anywhere close to reality, not to mention what we read here. If you go to a Tesla forum, do you see many threads with charging issues at fast chargers? I haven’t been to one, but curious if others know as that non-scientific survey of forum vs, forum should give you a directional answer as to which one is more reliable, welcome to its users.

Man, I'm shocked to see this.

Every time I chat with fellow chargers at Electrify America, it seems to be well established fact that EA is the worst charging company in the business. So many horror stories.

Contrast that with my Tesla-owning friends who have rarely if ever experienced a failed charge. The whole idea of having to switch from station to station looking for a charger that actually works is a foreign concept to them. Their network seems to "just work."

As a driver of both a Taycan and a Model X... this is just sooo far from reality it's not even funny.
I really really wish it was true.

Some of the reason of why they are off is self-evident when you look at what they evaluated, and how they accounted for different factors in the sum-total scoring.

This assessment is pretty far from a useful assessment for actual user experience.

It starts with "This is not a test of the feasibility of long road trips while using any of these charging networks. " Wait what? Isn't that one of the key criteria we should be interested in?

And further: they weight all kinds of "digital and support" aspects as heavily as charging station location/availability etc.

So for example: website and support...
I have never been on the Tesla website for charging related aspects in 4 years of ownership of 2 different vehicles. You get in the car, put in the destination, and drive. When the car tells you to drive to a supercharger, you drive there and plug in. That's it.

This scoring is basically: "IF you should need the website, EA is better.".
Not: the average user doesn't even NEED it.

I can't tell if this is just click-bait stupid, or "never actually lived with an EV" stupid.

post on my own thread about CC issues with EA.

Have owned 3 Tesla since 2016, roadtrips up and down the west coast a lot. Never any problems with the Tesla Supercharger network. Like everybody says, it works, the lines are long during the holidays, but it moves pretty quick.

Got my 4S CT last Friday, and already struggling with the Plug & Charge. I eventually sort it out myself by using a different credit card (weird issue).

The thick cables, and hard to align CCS connector, and the wait 10-15 seconds after stopping to pull the plug takes a little getting used to. The length of the charging cable requires me to be pretty close to charging unit, and swinging the heavy cable around hits my bumper every time, these things I'll just need to time to get used to.

New EA stations like a half mile from my house, and I'm still thinking I should just charge at home and give up on the 30 min free sessions.

Yeah, it’s elaborate clickbait.
I hardly ever use SC with my MS90D, even though it is free, but I have seen it all:

Stations closed for many months, charger broken without any indication, chargers blocked by parking fee operators, need 10 min fiddle in an app to open the parking spot - not to mention, that I need an adapter because chargers changed plug to national standard.

I've never used EA, but I don't think its clickbait.

This does not ring a bell with me, after reading so many posts on this forum.

Electrify America top digital platform, Tesla Superchargers top location experience
The so called "methodology" in use in this evaluation is so flawed it is funny. I think it was written by people who don't own EVs or drive them on a regular basis.

Case in point --

Technical performance
Does the charging process start on the first attempt? How long does it take to initiate charging? How does the actual charging power delivered measure up to what is promised?

I think we'd all agree that this is the most important aspect of the "experience". Yet out of 1,000 possible points, this is 80. That's 80!!! Excuse me but JFC, what planet are these guys living on?

Send me the results of a survey where Technical Performance is at least 50% of the score and I'll pay attention. BTW, this is about what I would expect from a division of Accenture...

The EA network is absolutely awful. I’ve rarely had a successful experience, been stranded for a weekend during a long distance trip and have spent so many hours on the phone with EA trying to resolve charging issues. They’re very good at apologies and occasionally acknowledge their network leaves something to be desired but that’s no use when you’re stuck for an hour to get a charge.

These past 4-5 months I can not get the EA sessions above say 70kw and often even less regardless of whether I’m at a 350kw or 150kw unit. Worse, most are out of serviceor just won’t work. Today, I tried the stations at two different cities and only one charging station would work / was even in service at each. Neither would get close to the 150kw level and I was between 50-70kw at best. I spoke to EA once and gave up at the second location. I just don’t know how they can be so damned inept and inoperative. At this point, I just forgo the free charges. Just not worth the aggravation. Unfortunately, I’m scared to death to take a longer trip that would require me to use an EA station.
