It's not on your monroney label so expected (it's a shame that J1.2 don't have the ability to add things like this... we have the hardware already since we have active parking):Nope, no icon.

Yes, it’s absolutely terrifying at times. It hasn’t hit anything yet of the maybe dozen times I’ve let it park itself. But each time there is a moment where I wonder…It doesn't matter really, I'd never trust it!
I just went to an empty parking lot, reasoning fewer chances for disaster, and gave Active Parking a try.
It ignored dozens of empty spots and selected the end spot, and when it started backing in it looked like it was absolutely headed for the curb.
Gimmick not worth the risk, IMO! I would not buy this feature if it's not already included.
I need to try it with a spotter.Yes, it’s absolutely terrifying at times. It hasn’t hit anything yet of the maybe dozen times I’ve let it park itself. But each time there is a moment where I wonder…
I’ve used it twice in Los Gatos to parallel park in tight places. It worked well both times but I had the cameras on and foot on the brake. I’m kinda used to it from driving Teslas for so long.I need to try it with a spotter.
Yea, I have both options but my lack of faith in Porsche software led me to never even try it. At home I park tightly enough in the garage that I have to remember to make sure to disable maneuvering assist or it slams on the brakes hard. To Porsche’s credit, it seems to remember to turn in off at my house (most of the time). Because of that I figured neither of the park assistants would work in tight spots, and I don’t need then when parking it in an open field.Oh, so remote park is a different thing?
You can check if you have it directly on MyPorsche app under options. It shows individual options, vs. Monroney label might just list a package but not break down the included options. Mine looks like this:Nope, no icon.
Agreed! She goes quite fast at times and just whooshes in a spot…. Absolutely terrifying! In the beginning I braked several times because I feared a collision. I would actually go out and check, found out that the cameras are really awfully unrealistic in distance. Had to tell myself really hard that she oversees everything way better with 6(?) eyes than my 2 eyes. Since then like a peach!Yes, it’s absolutely terrifying at times. As DerekS said empty spots are ignored: there needs to be a car on both sides for reference. Also, overhanging small branches and leaves can make the spot too short… she cannot differentiate between a leaf and a boulderI just went to an empty parking lot, reasoning fewer chances for disaster, and gave Active Parking a try.
All it lacks is a “ding protector”. Let’s see, you’re going to park what is to you an expensive car *close* to two other unknown, maybe sober, drivers or to two other ding-bat shoppers in the mall all excited about their purchases who can’t wait to jump in and leave for home. what could go wrong?I've used it twice and it worked well.
This is exactly why I find this feature useless. I don’t park in tight spaces ever so I don’t get door dinged when people on either side carelessly open their doors. With my beautiful, dingless after 3 years, Taycan I take the opportunity to park as far away as I can to get a bit of exercise walking rather than look for a wide spot closer in. Nothing worse than having someone you blocked in so tight getting pissed and scratch the side of your car or slam their door into your door as they squeeze through the opening. I could see how it could be useful in my garage which is a bit tight but it incentivizes me to get a few extra steps in, keep my weight in check, so I comfortably fit in my Porsche.lol. Good point.
however, if you have remote parking you also have active parking. Luckyly that doesn’t need internet!
I always figured if I can’t get out the guy next to me also can’t get in… I never park in even slightly tight spots in fear of a#*holes who just slam their doors open…
Because of this thread I purposely activated this a couple of times yesterday. It was all city street parallel parking options. And yes, for me it would only detect spots if there was at least one car. I guess it figures if there are no cars, there is no need for “active support”? With only one car, I’d get the option to park behind it.I had another empty lot this morning and tried to get it to engage...it ignored all the empty spots and didn't do anything this time.
I'm now on a mission to determine what makes it work; the parking spots were marked with double-line loops, maybe that confused it and it wants single lines? Maybe it only works when there are cars? Who knows.
