If there is one thing I really dislike about the look of the Taycan it's the rear diffuser. I find the horizontal lines to ordinary and boring and it does not do justice to a sporty car like the Taycan. At Audi they understood this better, because although the E-tron GT is still camouflaged you can see the diffuser looks way better. That is why I'm anxiously waiting on the first aftermarket rear diffusers that come to the market.

What’s your thought on this?

I know what you mean. It does look particularly cheap and nasty on a £100K+ car.
Carbon wrap perhaps? Just don't paint it - take a look at the red one on here somewhere, poor owner had the virtual sh*t kicked out of him for doing that!

Dee is a fellow countryman, so great minds think alike a assume;).

He is on the right path, but the horizontal lines is what bothers me te most. It looks like Porsche spent time on every design aspect of the car but left the diffuser out.

I'm sure this is much better in real life.

Are the Dutch and the Belgians countrymen (other than in Limburg)?

:) good observation. The answer is no, but I'm Dutch, living in Belgium. Although surprised about your statement on Limburg. What's the story behind that?

I have seen it, but only the front louvres and decided I saw enough.

Of course, that is a scenario I did not take into account. I am an American, living in New Jersey for decades now, but I was born in Hasselt (as was Max Verstappen) and lived in Zonhoven, Antwerp, and Schilde before emigrating to the US.

Small world afterall! Hasselt Zonhoven is a 15 min drive from here. Living in B just across the Dutch border.

I already thought I noticed a Dutch/Belgian reference somewhere in an earlier contributed post I've read. Doesn't come to mind what it was about.

Go Max....

I'm working on a new design though.
It'll be four fins, semi matt black.
Made from two pieces of 2mm PMMA plastic glued together (to get some body for the M6 mounting nut).

Here's the prototyping:

My old bumper and the (almost) final shape.

Looking good Dee, now try getting rid of those ugly horizontal louvres and you're in business .

Just a quick copy and paste. No photoshop on my computer, is that obvious?

I don't know what you call ugly, I think they look excellent!
It's like a Star Wars rear end so I'm quite happy about that.
Besides, that original diffuser plate creates a perfect fixing point for my fins and gives it the stability I was looking for.
Win/win. :)
