Anyone install Ring Car Cam?

Has anyone installed the Ring Car Cam yet? It's fairly new and yes, might affect a sightline, but seems like an easy install.

I can see the OBD port on the driver side upper footwell. Looks like it's compatible but am not sure about the battery drain.

What he said. Looks like mine is arriving tomorrow. Of course, my Taycan currently is without a HV battery, so my report may be a bit delayed....

Here the camera is installed. I haven't driven yet, but it will definitely take up some of my view, but we'll see if it is too much or annoying in time. Works as advertised so far. Not the highest of resolutions but not bad either. I'll update as I get more time with it.

Thanks. It looks off-center to the right. I am assuming that it due in to the way it has to tuck into the dash? Thanks for the quick post. Doesn’t look like it sticks up too much?

I put it off center to the right on purpose. I didn’t like the way it sat centered. Felt like it might be more obtrusive centered. I don’t think it sits up too much, but I’ll be driving it this evening, so I’ll find out how it looks in a bit.

After a day of driving, i so far don’t think it’s too obtrusive at all. You get used to it up there and don’t notice after a while. We’ll see how more time does, but i like it so far.

Great to hear. Was the install as easy as it appears on the website? And are you turning it on/off at all? My car sits for days and was curious about the low power mode or an off button so no battery drain. Thanks for the quick feedback on this.

Install was very easy! I drive my car every day. Got almost 40k miles on it, so i leave it in the medium power setting. You should be fine with it in low. I’m very glad they gave different modes for different situations.

I installed the Ring Car Cam in our 2023 Mini Cooper SE and I will say Ring provides the thinnest diameter USB-C cable I have ever seen - which made it very easy to hide and tuck during the install...
