The app shows a different battery percentage than the car, also other features when I try to change them and send them to the car it doesn’t work.

It doesn’t look like the app is communicating with the car.
I’ve logged out of the app and logged back in, but it’s still the same.

I haven’t changed anything. Any ideas?

Does it show LTE in the pcm or is it a funny crossed through = instead.

Knowing that at least identifies which end the problems at.

Sometimes the individual Porsche servers go down so may just sort itself out if you have LTE showing in the car.

Dodgy =, then good luck!

Time old issue and covered in other threads.

The car must have a good LTE (mobile network) connection so that it can be contacted by the Porsche servers. When you use the app you talk to the servers which in turn talk to the car.

A regular issue has been poor network coverage or a failed / LTE comms module in the PCM.

One thing worth trying is the 12v battery reset (disconnect one of the battery terminals for less than 5 mins) to hard restart all 12v systems. This has worked for many in the past.

Bear in mind that there could be a simpler explanation such as Porsche server maintenance which will ultimately reconnect when done.

I found it impossible to disconnect the 12v battery. Terminal tucked under something and couldn’t get the cable clamp off the terminal. Felt I was definitely going to break something if I used more force/leverage.

I know left hand drive cars have it much more accessible.

Ok pull the PCM fuse then.

I have had my Taycan for just over 1 month and until now I have never had an issue with the app not communicating with the vehicle.

Three days ago the app stopped communicating with the vehicle. My app shows my Taycan is at a location from 3 days ago and hasn't updated any information since then. I have good LTE reception in the Taycan as my Spotify and other cellular services work fine. I tried the 12v battery disconnect and reconnect (3 minutes) suggestion, but it did not fix the issue.

Here are some questions for those of you who have seen this issue before:

1. Does this connectivity issue just resolve on its own (presumably by Porsche resetting its communications servers), or do I need to notify my local Porsche center that the app is no longer communicating with the vehicle, and bring in the vehicle for them to resolve the issue?

2. I assume that Porsche knows that this is a recurring issue. If so, what steps have they taken to resolve this problem?

BTW - Other than the recent app issue, so far I love the car. Its an absolute dream to drive !!

Replying to my own post...

Today the app magically started to communicate with my Taycan. Other than the 12v battery disconnect and reconnect that I did 3 days ago, I didn't do anything to make this problem go away.

Unfortunately, my app does not reflect the last 4 days worth of driving trip data. All such data seems to have been lost during the period that the app stopped communicating with my Taycan.

Anyway, I'm assuming that Porsche knows this is an issue. Wondering if anybody knows whether Porsche is taking any steps to prevent it from happening.

Another update on this subject...

I called my local Porsche service center today and the representative acknowledged that this is a common problem he has seen with the Taycan for several years. He said that there is nothing that the service center can really do as this is likely a "back end" problem with Porsche and their servers, and not something wrong with vehicle hardware. He suggesed that I call Porsche North America.

I then called Porsche North America and the person I spoke with said that this is the first time he has heard of this issue. He said that if others had reported it then he would be aware of it. He also said that if a lot of people reported this issue to Porsche North America, then it would be more likely that Porsche HQ in Germany would do something about it.

Given the number of people on this forum that have reported issues with the app not communicating with the vehicle for prolonged periods of time, combined with the feedback from my local Porsche service center acknowledging they know about this issue, I find it hard to believe that Porsche North America is not aware of this issue.

So.... if you have this problem please report it to Porsche North America. Their phone number is 800-767-7243.

This has been an issue since 2019 - globally.

Many posts on this forum.

After several more weeks with zero connectivity, I reached out to Porsche's North America Connect and Charge experts. They asked me to send some screen shots of the app not communicating with the vehicle and pictures of what I was seeing on the screen in my vehicle. They sent the pictures to the engineering team in Germany who then suggested I take the vehicle to my local SC to undergo a "7 step process" to fix the issue. Porsche North America sent the "7 step process" with specific instructions on how to fix the connectivity issue to my local SC. After taking the vehicle to my SC, they performed a reset of the over the air control unit. According to my service advisor, the reset of the over the air control unit is different than a reset of the PCM. The good news is that it fixed the problem and unlike a reset of the PCM, I did not lose any of my settings. It has been 2 weeks now since the over the air control unit reset and so far it is still working. Fingers crossed that this is not something I will need to do again.

I pushed for and received a goodwill payment (1yr connect fee) for a prolonged period of no connectivity. Basically not getting a service I was paying for and had other consequences related to ARB6/7.
Suggest you ask for the same!

Hi BigBob - Thanks for your insight. I will look into your suggestion. By the way, was your connectivity issue finally resolved after you took your Taycan into your service center? If so, for how long has it been trouble-free?
