Mine seem to be anodized aluminum with lighting.

I put a set on my car. They look good but I am not sure I would do them again. My thinking was that the width of the door threshold is unusually wide so having some lighting there would assist with stepping over without my passengers feet grinding dirt into the black finish. Jury is still out as to whether that thinking will hold water at my house.
