Can you add the sport chrono features (not the clock obviously) but the sport plus option to a 2021 4s. I have a Neptune coming this week and it does not have this option although it does have the performance battery plus so I assume the performance is the same but I guess there is no over-boost button?
I do think the Neptune blue looks awesome, if I had waited for 2021 I think it would have swayed me but I got my Volcano Gray in November.
Sport Chrono does not give you a overboost button on the Taycan like on other Porsches. It does give you the dial on the steering wheel and makes available the Sport+ driving mode which is not available without the package. Also adds a individual setting so that you can customize the five aspects of the driving mode.

Right that was my understanding as well. I guess my question is can the additional settings (sport plus and individual etc be programmed into the system without the package. I mean aside from the click and the turn wheel it must just be software??

I would agree that in the case of the additional driving modes it's unlikely there are any hardware changes for the Taycan. Sport Chrono has a tremendous effect on the fossil cars and the price difference is substantially higher there as well. In the case of the Taycan, I think they just use it as a differentiator.

Hello Luke,

A quick question, does Porsche have any feedback loop customers of the Taycan can use to suggest new ideas/fixes as part of future software upgrades/developments?

Unfortunately no. The best way to voice your opinions to Porsche is via your dealership and survey that you receive after taking delivery of your Taycan.

Porsche will periodically reach out to clients directly for surveys, but I am not sure how they go about doing this or which clients they select/why.

You are correct, it is just software besides the Sport Chrono Clock and Sport Chrono Dial on the steering wheel.

There is no way that I am aware of to add this afterwards, and if I had to imagine it would be fairly expensive given what Porsche would charge for an aftermarket Sport Chrono Clock and Steering Wheel Dial...

Just use Sport Mode and then put your suspension into Sport Plus if you want the sportiest driving characteristics. Feels essentially the same as Sport Plus on the Sport Chrono Dial in my opinion!

Thanks @LukeManning. I guess my only other question is can you do launch control without the sport chrono option. I saw a video where someone appeared to be doing it.

Simply put the car into sport mode via the PCM drive mode setting get into a clear area with no obstacles in front of you put your foot on the brake hold it firm then foot on the accelerator hold it firm within a couple seconds you should see launch control enabled and then release the break holding on tightly.

You do not need sport Chrono to use launch control you just need to be in Sport mode or Sport Plus mode.

My dealer has a turbo with just about exactly what I want (premium, performance, burmester) in a demo model. It is not the color i wanted but the dolomite silver is not my last choice either. I wondered how much of a discount I could expect for a demo model?

Hi Luke
I see some listings for model code Y1AAA1 on some dealers websites. Do you have any information on what this model Taycan is? Thanks

Hi @LukeManning ,
I have a question according to settings.
I don't want to "auto-switch on of parking cameras" so I deselected the checkbox (see att).
The next day, when I switch on my car, the checkbox is selected again.
It seems the car doesn't store this setting while other settings are.
My car is MY2020.
Any ideas?

It's quite annoying when you pull up at the traffic lights and the cameras (and beeps) come on...

I can neither confirm nor deny the inevitable release of a Taycan Cross Turismo, but I expect if they did it would be later this year with it probably being a 2022 model ;)

Dee,

I am not sure on this one.

I might try to press "Set 1" and see if you can save that setting to one of the dummy keys on the side doors.
