I read on another thread some talk about breaking in the car from new. Avoiding launch, etc. My GTS ST arrives in 4 weeks, need some advice as my son will be ngging me to launch at every opportunity. Does the user manual mention this?

EV's have way way way fewer moving parts vs ICE vehicle's - while I'm a huge fan of mechanical sympathy - you don't wait to 'break in' your phone or your laptop

other than maybe avoiding doing launch control at every stop light - drive as you see fit - there is far less to 'break in' (if anything) on an EV.

Yes it does, please see below. This is what I am going through and following as we want the cars to last a long time. Also, there is always a new tire break in period, typically new tires can take around 200-500 miles to fully break in until they offer optimal performance, by accelerating a little easier, avoiding hard braking and taking turns a little slower than usual.

Full send from the get go. It’s one of the perks of EV ownership. No warm ups. No delayed gratification. Beat on it from Day 1.

my first Launch today. After 100miles. However I can clearly notice brakes and tyres are not ready yet.

There is time for everything, so the manual in this case is not wrong with its break in recommendation on brakes and there is no getting away from breaking in the tyres due to the manufacturing process. Then I am sure a lot of other components are impacted if not properly broken in that you cannot see.

Reserve launch mode for when at the light next to other EV's, so you don't feel embarrassed that a Mustang Mach-E or Model Y outruns your Taycan.
