I've been doing a bit of research on this after first looking at the escort jammer/detector built in, it seems that on the jammer side the escort is not good for the lidar used by the cops here, the detectors are very good.

I think I am going with this setup, https://radenso.com/products/radenso-rc-m
a radenso radar detector paired with an ALP jammer https://www.alpriorityusa.com/
it will be a costly custom install but from what I've read it should well for me.

in my part of the world the dragon eye lidar system is favored by the locals and state troopers and the ALP is the only one that defeats the dragon eye units.

if you can find out what is popular in your part of the world you may not need to go so heavy duty and go with the escort xi ci setup, many porsche dealers can install that setup.

I think the Stinger also defeats the Dragon Eye (in fact, I'm sure of it), and they're supposedly about to release a new antenna that greatly improves its Radar performance.

The Stinger "heads" are also super tiny; way better looking.

assuming that you are correct, and this is the first time I an seeing this claim then the only issue with the stinger is that the installation of the heads must be precise or it will not perform well.
that said if it works for you, great.

@kort
i had this exact setup installed in my TS by Automods
Fantastic system and install
Worth every penny and plenty of pennies were spent

This was based on Vortex Radar's laser testing where he thought the laser jamming was great, including Dragon Eye, but didn't like the Radar part (which is what they've supposedly updated). But yes - from everything I've read, you do have to install it properly. You'd hope, though, that any of these systems would be installed properly.

I have had 3 of the Escort systems installed by various dealerships (two Astons, one Porsche) and each time the front laser shifters had to be redone after I noticed that the shifters were not installed perpendicular to the roadway (they were initially installed to follow the curve of the grilles for aesthetic reasons - WRONG!). In Georgia, the Dragoneye is used extensively so for me the Radenso detector with the ALP laser jammers would be my first choice.

My install, of the Escort Max 360 Ci, referenced in an earlier post on this thread, is incredibly clean and well integrated. However, it is not the best laser jammer, which is something I struggled with. The Escort will jam the Dragon Eye, just '...not as well...' as the ALP. I discussed this with my installer and decided on the simple, clean installation of a very good but not the best laser jammer. I will be very careful driving through Atlanta...

that works for you, however those of us who live and drive in areas where the dragon eye units are the predominant units in use cannot get away with maybe it will work. if you are going to pay the "big bucks" you want something that will work.

I use a windshield mounted Escort Redline 360c at present (which is challenging given the size of the cutout, and I'm sure I'm not getting good performance), and looked at a lot of these systems.

One of the big issues with the integrated units like the 360ci is that it's years behind the development of the windshield units, and the performance and feature set isn't as good. Similarly, I heard and discussed the same thing with its laser units: they might work against the DragonEye, but also might not...which means you can't rely on them. When you're spending many thousands to put in this kind of thing, it's frustrating if it won't actually perform at a very high level...but that is, unfortunately, hard to quantify.

The Radar Mirror display is pretty great, though.

The RC-M is in a similar situation. It's an older unit, is about to be superceded significantly by Radenso's own Theia, and even that will only be windshield for a while.

And the ALP is great, but only integrates with the RC-M, and even there drops some of the info it has in its own interface. Plus, the TX units, which are their best jammers, will not work on the Taycan beacuse they have to be mounted quite high (the install shown here has the TX in the back, which will work, but Laser is almost always from the front, and if they're shooting you from an overpass with a car ahead, well, you're kinda done anyway).

Anyway. It's a set of difficult options with advantages and disadvantages all around. Wish all these units kept up with the current state of the art...or, at least, it's the expensive units whose technology trickles down, as opposed to the cheaper units whose technology "trickles up".

So the answer? Maybe it's be smart, safe and use these things more as "you're being an idiot" protection, vs "you can be an idiot now"...the latter of which is best done (and in a much more fun way) on a track. ?

where I live lidar accounts for the majority of what the police use for speed measurements. radar detectors will for the most part only alert you when that narrow laser is pointed at you, once you are warned you are already caught. so for me the radar detector is only part of the equation.
