Car Secutiry Package - worth £269?

I am about to collect my 4S Sport Turismo - and the dealership asked me if I wanted to pay £269 per year for the 24/7 theft detenction.

Does it make sense in your experience? Does it provide any real discounts to insurance policies?

I have paid the the tracking fee for 4 years, I have always found the insurance cheaper

I had for 2 years with Porsche. Third year renewed it direct with Vodafone and was £100.00 less. Exactly the same without any changes.

Not paying for the Tracker would stop Vodafone pestering you which is good.
They are difficult to nick even without a tracker unless you are a dick with keys etc.
I would definitely not want Comfort Access with no tracker.
A moments lack of concentration and someone could jump in and drive off

It does. The tracker service offers instant alert should the car move, be fully powered-on, or have an alarm trigger- if the tracker fob isn't detected.

Never had any sensible differences in insurance with trackers. And have had issues with them (battery drain on other cars).

I avoid like the plague.

The security service is independent of the ability to find your car as long as you have an active Porsche Connect services agreement in place (new car comes with 3 years and 10 years Porsche Care (updates)). Apart from theft detection you can geofence the car and set speed limits when someone else is using the car, Valet setting etc - things you may never use.

You don't have to sign-up on day 1 if no insurance dependency - try it for a while without before making a decision.

I have it (and on other Porsches for years) but ostensibly part of an insurance requirement which to be honest is dubious as all cars with GPS can be tracked (Admiral make a thing of it but I don't think they understand the concept TBH). Apart from the faff of having a separate fob the service is reliable (in my experience) and can facilitate remote disabling of the car (with Vodafone seeking permission from the Police - so an exception) if needed.
