When I spoke to customer service they said it either should be available now or in the upcoming SOTA that they say addresses some issues. As for wireless charger even if the phone “fits” I have a feeling it won’t stay in place the way most of us will be driving these cars!
It slides front to back a little, but certainly isn't going sideways.

I had confirmation from Porsche that wireless CarPlay is 2nd half of the year, not sure if it’s a free OTA upgrade or part of the 2021 model

So the car has wireless charging, but not wireless carplay. That's a real miss/disappointment.

What‘s the deal with Apple CarPlay? The configurator in the US used to clearly state wireless, now it just says Apple CarPlay with the wireless deleted. Some have suggested this will come later as an update???

As above reply. Wireless Car Play is coming June 2020 OTA.

I hope the OTA update really happens. I’m spoiled by Apple CarPlay.

Forgive my ignorance, but does Porsche do OTA updates in other vehicles?

Gogs, do you have a definitive source? I asked the salesperson today and he was evasive, but reported that he had read about a software update on these forums. I called Porsche Customer Service and all they would confirm is that the CarPlay currently is not wireless and they have no information on when wireless Carplay may be available. I asked if the car still had the hardware for wireless and she could not answer. This is not a "deal breaker" for me, but wireless is so much more convenient for around town driving when there is little need to charge the phone. Plus, this makes the wireless charger in the storage compartment a bit of an odd inclusion. I plan to submit my deposit today.

The CarPlay wireless stuff is actually in the Taycan manual if you look at the Good to Know app. It'll eventually show up.

My salesman said they have had a lot of trouble with wireless carplay in the 2019 Macan and that has continued in the 2020 cars that have wireless. He also predicts a software update at some point, but no confirmation.

My source is a Porsche tech in the uk. The hardware for wireless car play is already there, so no hardware upgrade will be required. They have tested and it showed intermittent disconnects etc and it’s software at fault. Hence they were told a June update. I think OTA. Not sure.

I have the Carplay2air adapter but have not been able to get the Taycan system to recognize it.

Will try again once my 4S is back from the detailing shop this weekend.
