Recently had a software update at the dealership and since then, can’t seem to put an upper limit on battery charging level. Pre-update, setting the “minimum” limit on the battery to 80% stopped it there on any level 2 charger. But every charge (other than direct charging) since then has not stopped at any pre-set level, which means returning to the car in the morning after an overnight plug-in and finding the battery at 99 or 100%, no matter what profile I’ve tried to use. How are others setting charging limits to not exceed a certain percentage?

Here's an example of how I have my car setup so that it doesn't charge more than 85% while I'm charging at work.

I have minimum set to 85% so that it immediate charges up to 85% and then I set my preferred to 1-6AM since I know I'm not going to be at work during that time. Usually that works out for me.

Timer profile may work better for you if you know exactly when you're will be driving, but my schedule gets frantic as hell during the week so I just prefer the car to charge up to 85% ASAP and then if I need to go over that's when I use Direct Charing to override to 100%.

Why set it for preferred times instead of just leaving it on optimized?

If you just want it to charge to 85% and stop, set your profile minimum to 85% and delete or disable all timers. Don't use preferred charging times - set for optimized charging. You only need a timer if you want a target charge at a later time, or want vehicle (and battery) pre-heating. Think of it this way:

Profile = start charging immediately to the minimum charge specified
Timer = end charging at the target maximum charge at the specified time

Based on what I read on what optimize does, I don't see how it would work properly for me. At home I use a JuiceBox charger and my utility rate in Washington is flat rate across the entire day. Optimizer would have nothing to optimize off of and would probably just charge past 85% since there's no way to set a max charge from my understanding.

Here is the setup I’ve been using since April. Until recently, it stopped at 80% even if the charging plug was still attached to the car (i.e. not unplugged inside 30 mins after the 80% level was reached). It’s only since the software upgrade that the car continues to charge past the 80% threshold. Other posts have suggested using the charging profile in conjunction with a timer setting. I will try that to see if it works.

@Bluebeauty the car will charge to the minimum immediately when plugged in. The car will charge to 100% during the preferred charge times.

Hmm, that has not been my experience so far. But will try it without preferred charge times and see what happens. Thanks for the feedback.
