Critique my CT4S spec...

After placing an order in April 2022, I'm finally top of the unallocated queue so should get a build slot in June with Porsche Tonbridge. Expecting a call to confirm my spec in the next few weeks, so would appreciate any thoughts:

I really only listen to the radio or a podcast, so didn't see the point of upgrading - is the standard one really that bad? I had sport sound, but almost everyone says they never use it after week one.

Not a fan of volcano and black window surrounds (on any Porsche or car). I like volcano as a colour and went full black on my GTS ST which I picked up this week - first car with black surrounds but it works.

LED projector - no need to waste money on this IMHO.

Tinted Matrix - standard Matrix are just fine with volcano - already dark.

Painting the rear wiper gloss back and model designation in matt - better both are matt IMHO.

Bose is a miss IMHO as is Race Tex B-Pillars (look great) and brushed black aluminium tread plate inserts if not already standard.

Other than that I think you've got a good spec and my only hang up would be the wheel choice - Spyders may look better IMHO.

Thanks Adrian - interesting insights there. I can see what you mean about gloss black on grey. And since I dropped the off-road pack (meaning there's aluminium trim under the doors), it makes sense to match.

Ask your dealer - my neighbour has a 4S CT and has them on his - look really smart.

It could be they've temporarily withdrawn for whatever reason.

The 21" Cross Turismo wheels are really good looking, I would keep them, you can get them painted, but I kept mine standard. I also have chalk (crayon)/black leather, and it is really nice, more of a soft gray than it appears on the configurator. Overall, I like your spec, not necessarily everything I would do, but will be a very nice CT 4S.

I didn’t get Bose because of shortage and was concerned by the dire warnings of catastrophe here and elsewhere but I find the standard system fine for a car, and I’m a music lover.
I am also one who tolerated the faux sound for about a minute before permanently switching it off.
I particularly dislike privacy glass too, prefer the sculpted ally roof to the glass one and have never used a roof rack so those are three expenses I spared myself too.

And the 21” Cross Turismo wheels are by far the best looking wheels available for any Taycan IMHO
I quite like the Spiders in the satin black version offered for a GTS but don’t like any of the gloss black with machined highlights offered on almost all the wheels for a Taycan so your choice was mine too.

Very nice build and lots already covered by the other guys and I echo some of the comments.

I would change:

• Model designation to gloss black as it will match the other gloss black coloured options. Rear spoiler, window wiper cover, window surrounds are all gloss black.
• Opt for the door sill guards in brushed black aluminium.

Consider:

• RaceTex B Pillars - the standard plastic marks too easily and lets the interior down imho.
• Inlays painted in gloss black. Not a big cost option and, given your other options, it will look really good on the car.
• Dash Cam pre-wire. It’s free.
• Keep the 21” CT wheels - I think their the best looking wheels also.

Whatever you finally opt for, you won’t be disappointed with the car. Good luck. ?

Just received an email from Octopus saying that my car is now scheduled for October (original estimate Feb/Mar). I'm assuming he means 2023, but at this point who knows?

18 months from deposit. Quite the sh!t show Porsche are running over there, eh?
