I do like the crest on the headrests myself. When I own a Turbo S or other variant that has the model name by default on the headrests I leave it there – but currently in a GTS that doesn't – so have the crest instead.

Yeah – for sure its something that can be skipped – but I always notice it. Probably the silly cosmetic option – I get the most enjoyment out of – is the illuminated carbon door sills! I park in a dark underground car park under my apartment and always enjoy them out of the corner of my eye when climbing in. @f1eng would hate the unnecessary use of cosmetic carbon fibre!
Is cosmetic the new term for fake?

I don't think so.
The carbon fibre trim isn't fake it is just a waste of a good structural material which just looks industrial to me - an engineer who has been using carbon fibre for structural purposes for almost 50 years.

I suppose for some the fact that it is expensive is an attraction - it isn't for me ;) so I despise its use for cosmetic bits as opposed to structural ones.

I would never select any carbon fibre cosmetic trim. Used in chassis or door reinforcement - fine - otherwise NO.

I can't imagine a more beautiful 3D material than carbon fiber.
The sheer regularity of the fibers in the shapes is simply stunning, something you won't find in any other material.
You could call it cosmetic, but so is the Mona Lisa. 😉

It's a stupid option, it's fake as hell, it's loud and it's obnoxious.
You should definitely get it.
It's very fun. I don't turn it on outside of sport plus (which turns it on automatically).
It's very nice to have (serious) acoustic feedback to what the car is doing when driving it hard.
The up and downshift get an ear to ear grin every time.
Good for pedestrian warning as well.

Best part was my neighbour asking how many litres the v8 in the Taycan was.

Long story short; test drive it. Does it put a smile on your face? Definitely get it, that doesn't go away.
If you hate it, don't get it...

I would not buy a taycan without one.

It's popular for sure. The dealer cars all have it. I've tried it, I can't stand it, and I'm glad I did not get it on mine.

I was staunchly against it. I turned it off every time when doing test drives.

But then when I bought my GTS it came as an automatic option. I let it run when using Sport+ mode.... and damn... it is weirdly fun. The 2% of the time where I'm blasting off in Sport+, for some reason that sound really adds a smile to my face.

Possibly, but a fake sound generator probably is not giving it with any degree of accuracy ;)

I believe it’s directly linked to engine RPM, much like an ICE vehicle.
Sure it will take some getting used to but I find it pretty handy. It adds to the sensation of speed, both acceleration and deceleration.

It's linked to engine rpm, correct.
It also makes a dramatic but subtle departure and arrival.

I love the sound of my fake sport sound option. It puts me in a different mode of driving.

For me, it's essential since I love sports cars; it was definitely one of my requirements for buying one.

Do you know if the sound can be increased with software, even just in the cabin?

@Robertoba I don't believe a software solution to achieve that has been found, but you can try this-
For maximum enjoyment of Electric Sport Sound for those with Bose- turn off AudioPilot as it filters out some of the layered notes especially on low speeds.
If your car benefits from a large performance gain via a tune, ESS will sound louder and more visceral in proportion to the power increase. (see: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/part-3-the-quest-for-the-perfect-tune.25979/post-404246)

I will say that I was pleasantly surprised that ESS sounds even better and driving more enjoyable after sound insulating all 4 doors with CLD sound deadening + open cell foam, and solving any cabin noise/rattles.
