Interesting I got a total different story: I had new tyres fitted at Porsche Centrum Brabant today, and they mentioned that an OTA update is scheduled for next week. I’ve been following up with them on this for months..
Please tell more. Would be the best christmas present ever to have my satnav back. What was said exactly?

It wasn’t my regular service rep, and I mentioned the issue to him when he asked if there was anything else they needed to look at.

His response was that it would most likely be fixed with an OTA map update next week.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up. I don’t fully trust that answer, to be honest. But I do think it could be fixed via OTA, since I would argue the issue was originally introduced last summer also OTA🙃.

Ah a map update instead of a nav update. That rep did not have a clue. Bummer..

I did my first ‘long’ trip in my Taycan over the last two days and thought I’d use the PCM nav on the way home after using CarPlay on the way out… What a mistake 😂

It crashed and restarted 4 times in my 1.25 hour journey.

Usually the crash was preceded by the route freezing while the car location arrow was still updating.

I also noticed the general failure of it to ‘keep up’ with the navigation, eg there were times where it just wouldn’t update for 30-60s, such as driving along a motorway but the distance to the next instruction wouldn’t tick down.

Finally I noticed an annoying delay between the nav screen updating for the next direction and the HUD updating. So you could never be sure which one was correct.

Absolute rubbish, probably the worst OEM nav system I’ve ever used. It’s clearly software related (the little car location arrow was always spot on when the nav ‘froze’) so I don’t think it can be GPS issues, so I hope they can fix it.

Side comment: I did get a map update OTA halfway through the drive and thought oh good maybe that’ll stop it crashing. No. 😂

The problem is not just that it’s a crash useless waste of space but that it was actually pretty good up until sometime in July this year when something changed and it all went bad!

I have also noticed it getting worse and worse. It used to hang and catch up occasionally, then it would crash occasionally and now it’s almost instantly useless.

The worst thing about this though is the complete radio silence from Porsche. I am not aware of any acknowledgement from them officially. When I talked to my service advisor he said he never had hear anything about this. Despite so many reporting the issue here. ’

I have received an acknowledgement and appologies. And 6 months of Porsche Connect.

Absolutely hid. Software issues happen, but the fact nearly 6 months later the nav is still unable and Porsche can't even agree that there's an issue is just unbelievable

Are you able to share some wording of what they've acknowledged, so I can send on to my dealer?

Sure here is a part of a mail, when I agreed with the 6 months they said sorry again.

Thank you for your patience regarding your case.

I would like to inform you that our technical department has approved a 6-month complimentary service extension of Porsche Connect due to the issue with map updates and the Navigation system.

In the meantime, our technical team is actively working to fully resolve the issue.

Please reply if you would accept 6 months of service extension.

Please accept my sincere apologies on behalf of Porsche for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Wishing you a good day.

Nice to see that they have granted you a 6 month extension for Connect services, but that is not done across the board! And no official communication in the app, by email or letter!

I think it is P***poor!

I took back my car this afternon from my CPO service. They changed my Power Buton and mode the TI 63/23 softwares updates.
I have done 50 kms and no navigation issues. They just told me that They did what Porsche Germany told them for those issues.
(Navigation with charger planning selected)
As They also erase defaults and rebooted every systems I will go on testing.
perhaps it’s now ok and Hope so
I will look at my PCM tomorrow to see softwares and map ID now available in my GTS

what has been done By my CPO :
- IT 65/23 updates
- PCM upgrade from 3882 to 3885
- Navigation kit to 12/2025
- Else ? They just told me they have followed what Porsche Germany asked them.

Sorry, it is better but not fully fixed. Porsche is working on it but there is no ETA. See the thread on PFF.

I am going to find out on monday when I get my car back after being at the service center for five weeks to fix a water entering the car problem.
