Googled a lot and have found some information but looking for real world experience on here.
Two days after a heater replacement, I plugged in to recharge my battery.
The following morning my garage breakers have tripped and the requested charge has not quite achieved its target.
Breakers re-set and plug in RCBO immediately trips. I have a Porsche Mobile charger so plug that into the three pin socket on (obviously) a different circuit. Immediately on plugging the PMC turns all light red and trips. Light sequence suggests residual current detected.
Car drives Ok. P Assist finds 'loads of codes' and arranges the usual 'stuff'. Car now at the OPC and the XC60 is underwhelming especially as the headlights are worse than 1960s bicycle lamps.
Thoughts/experience would be welcome.
12v battery WSS6 and Charger WSS4 just completed.
I was hoping to be less evident on this Forum in '26...

If breakers tripped, likely your Taycan's onboard charger has failed and needs to be replaced.

(Thanks for your continuing forum participation... ) ;)

My 11 kw OBC blew and tripped breaker about a year after delivery of my 22 4S. I tried a couple of other AC EVSE units at other locations and had problems with them all. No problems since OBC was replaced.

Now, the 'wet' heater is situated directly above the OBC and its multi plugs...🤔

Not my pic.

Sorry, meant to annotate. Black box is heater with insulating cover; silver box is OBC. The heater hose connectors are directly above the OBC connectors... 🤔

The multiplugs and the OBC are at the bare minimum IP65, so no problem there.
That is good to know.
Thank you.
My problem is I do not believe in coincidence. In this case I shall just have to subscribe to the 'these things happen' school of thought. :CWL:

Phone call just now confirms the death of my OBC. Off road part order so hopefully Wednesday/Thursday return. Apparently it is not a quote 'big job'.. You will know more about this.

The OBC's die if you breathe funny, there's defects inside.
You could submerge it and there would be no issues. For sure the problem is not liquid ingress, no need to make things up.

Did you know that certain BMW's in the past had their ECU's liquid cooled? With coolant running right through the DME?

Actually, yes; dielectric fluid is clever stuff. Many data centres now run submerged cooling 'computers'.

On a different topic, you don't happen to know how to get the arm cover off the Tourismo rear wiper arm by any chance?

It's not dielectric anything, just normal coolant :)
Never heard of any of them failing either. There's cooling passages in the heatsink.

No, but I will find out soon because I ordered the shiny one for my new Taycan.
