Fine scratches on window glass.

Hey all, notice some scratches on the window, it’s sort of like sand or something was trapped in the window seal and it’s scratched the window. Any way to get rid of it?
At some point I’ll get a slightly darker tint.

I heard from my detailer it could be buffed out, but make sure the person knows what they are doing

It's how you use the rotary machine, the cutting pad and the type of polishing product you use.
I would have an experienced person do it.

There are people who specialize in glass. Doesn't need to be a automotive detailer

I wonder if the glass has any finish / tint applied to it externally.

Glass is typically pretty hard and not easy to scratch especially through just opening and closing a window.

I did once scratch a window at home while removing some paint with a sharp scraper. I did manage to get most of the deep scratch out using a car orbital polisher but it took a while as the surface is pretty hard.

If there is a tint then the polisher is likely to strip this off pretty quickly and I guess no matter how careful one is the attempt to buff out would likely be more unsightly than the scratches that were there in the first place.

It’s all factory. The rear have tints, it’s odd, never had this before and have owned a few cars.

The duel pane glass has a light tint in-between the pieces of glass.
You don't put tint or film eternally on glass. Only a from of PPF to prect against rock chips and scratches on the windshield

Oh wow, seems very common. Is this something Porsche would cover?

bmw convertible has frameless windows, I’ve owned that almost 10 years and those windows look good as new !

Had the same issue on my 2015 Model S. Grease between the rubber and glass is vicious.
No guarantee issue in most cases I guess.
I keep an eye on it and clean now and then with a little plastic spatula.
