First Porsche Charging Lounge opens in Germany

I am super surprised they've gone with Alpitronic chargers and not their own Porsche designed ones you see at Porsche Centres.

Sounds great. I was surprised it was six chargers not 24 but the full press release suggests it is only for registered Porsche vehicles which sounds nice.

All for it, but whenever I use a Porsche charger I get no more that 105kw. That's not premium in my view. The local Shell is faster.

Maybe it’s to do with the upgrade to 400kw next year? I’d imagine they have a good reason for it as I agree the Porsche ones look nicer.

It's already in the Porsche app. The Porsche Lounge has a unique "gold" pin rather than white.

Is it too much to expect that the snacks and soft drinks will be complimentary, to give it an airline lounge "feel"? It is only for Porsche owners, after all. It mentions payment methods, but it's ambiguous whether they're referring to the charging or the snacks.

I've just looked in the app, and there's a new "function". You're now able to create an access key for the Porsche Charging Lounge, add your registration plate so the gates open automatically, and add your "key" to your Apple Wallet.

To be honest I'm not surprised at all they've gone with Alpitronic Hyperchargers - they are a really great unit and many charge point operators are adopting them. Including Ionity who announced recently they would be using them. The large Ionity upgrade at Cobham will be using 400 kW Alpitronics.
