Thank you- This is an interesting alternation but I read one of the disadvantage of interlocking tiles is water can get between the tiles and create Mold. What has been your experience or other who responded experience
Zero in 7 years in extremely humid Houston :) - you’d have to have some quite an unusual setup to worry about this I.e. standing water / bad drainage, bad airflow, etc etc

I'm not a fan of having to pull up tiles for cleaning. Some poeple love it and I would use it for a climate-controlled or indoor showroom or similar. I went with Polyurea low-gloss heavy chips color matched to house trim. It's amazing and holds up well in South Florida summer humidity.

really like the look. Is it slippery if your shoes are wet. Like is SW so Rain is not normally an issue. Thanks

Not at all. That's one element I talked with my installer about. This is why we went with loss-gloss Polyurea with heavy flake.

I'm thinking about going with NewAge vinyl garage floor. https://newageproducts.com/flooring/residential-flooring/garage-flooring/

I think it looks better than epoxy.

Since both my cars are EVs now - I don't have to worry about oil and other car fluid spills. I figured I can open up to different types of flooring.

If anyone has tried this - please let us know how it went.

No but I have newage cabinets. For the $ of that flooring I could coat my 3-car garage twice. It does look nice though.

Could you elaborate on the cost? Epoxy quotes given to me ranged between $3500-4500 for my 1000 sqft 4-car garage.

The cost of NewAge flooring is ~$4200 - I'll have to find someone to install it, maybe another $1k - but not near 2x.

Polyurea was $2200 for ~900 sq. ft.

I prefer the flaked epoxy. Easily blows off and have it mopped every 3 weeks. Always comes down to preferences and ocd issues. I like the vinyl but what I would perceive as dust collecting pockets would drive me crazy. The new epoxy applications should last for 6-7 years without any touch up. We have a 10 year warranty on our flooring.

I have the same flooring. Easy to clean and no issues in the past two years since install.

I have RaceDeck and love it.

If you are going epoxy, it’s all about the prep work. Every garage is different, so there’s no simple way to say what prep work you’ll want, but make sure you discuss the details with your installer.
RaceDeck is excellent. Premier product.

Epoxy can be problematic especially if it is an old oil stained surface and then they need to prep the surface and remove any staining. A very good installer is a must.

Has anyone installed porcelain tile floors? Similar to what the dealerships are installing in their service centers?

The brand-name products (SwissTrax or RaceDeck) have interlocking channels which drain the water towards (downslope, garage front usually). There’s nothing for mold to adhere to - the plastic tiles are smooth, and the garage floor is (usually) sealed concrete.

One of my pet peeves in the winter is dragging in frozen, dirty slosh which then just piles on the floor. With these tiles, all that drains out, and every month I run the shop vac over the worst areas. In the summer I’ll split the cover in 2-3 columns per bay, drag them out and pressure wash the garage, as well as the tiles.

For me, the biggest win is that the garage always looks clean; I’d broom it once a week before and it would look dirty within days (pine and fir needles).
