Just wondering what tires your GTS's are turning up with.

My CT had Pirelli P zeros and from the photos the salesman has sent me, it looks like my GTS has some sort of Goodyear Eagles. Is this a step back from the Pirellis?

No, it's a step fwd :) The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 is better than the Pirelli. I have the Goodyear tires as well and I'm very happy with it. I know a few Taycan drivers that switched from Pirelli to Goodyear and do not regret the decision.

I'll be specifically telling my dealer NOT to put Pirellis on mine or I won't be taking the car.

Pirellis have amazing grip, but don't last at all.
Had them on a couple of cars as original fitment and hated them with a passion on every measure.

My current "go to" tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (which replaced Supersports). Have had these on 4x fast cars now and love them.

Absolutely my favorite tire also, and as I noted in the tire forum they are now available in 21" Taycan spec!

Such disdain for the Pirellis. I thought they were the go to performance brand.

We are traditionally a Mercedes family and everything we've had over the last 6 years, not AMGs BTW, has had Bridgestones or Continentals. Absolutely despise the Contis.

In that case you’ll be losing your deposit!

Porsche have a few agreed tyre suppliers and your car will be fitted with whatever tyres are available at the factory when the car is being built!

i replaced the Cup 2 tyres on my GT3 with Pilot Sport 4S to give it much better usability in poor weather and used the same tyres for my RS4.

These would definitely be my preferred choice for the Taycan, but unfortunately it’s just pot luck whether you get the Pirelli’s, Goodyear or (now that they are ‘N’ rated in the correct sizes) Michelin.

I think the Goodyears have done reasonably well in EVO tyre tests, but the Michelin often comes out on top.

For something worth £1k (possibly more) you'd think the buyer would get the choice.... Especially if the Michelin are now N rated.

I have a few chats to have about wheels and tyres I suspect. Might have to be one for afterwards.

i think I read that it was something offered some time ago, but not for some time - even on the most expensive cars or the track-focussed models where tyre choice might be even more critical.

If you have a good relationship with your dealer, the best you can hope for is that they might swap wheels/tyres if they have another car arriving at the same time which has your preferred brand.

I’m happy that Porsche has tested the cars with all of the approved brands and will change to Pilot Sport 4S when they are needed.

100% yes on Pilot Sport 4S -- although I haven't seen the Pilot Sport 5 (I assume there will be a 5S?) to say whether the PS4S is the end-all/be-all tire!

I put NA0 spec MPS4S 295/35ZR20 rears on my Taycan 4S when it needed replacement. NA0 = 911 spec, but I figure being approved for a Porsche is better than not. ? Tire Rack has only one NF0-spec option -- the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport.
