Handrest compartment

The hand rest compartment door opens only like 70% of the way. Makes Its so difficult to put anything in there or take anything out or just to slide your phone to charge. Anyone have a solution to this? Or just deal with it.

it is a terrible design, it is hard to access, won't stay open on it's own, whomever let it proceed into production should be drawn and quartered

The one in my 718 at least opens ~90°, then I can brace it open with my forearm if necessary.

Yes. Some cars hinges have a small provision where the lid sticks/locks when fully open. That would be great.

There you go! Seriously, I was thinking of the hinges that when you open them they stay open (boat hatches have them) and then you just use a little effort and it closes.

Yes. Some cars hinges have a small provision where the lid sticks/locks when fully open. That would be great.

My boat has some of those hinges on compartments. Might have to investigate it when my car gets here. Now if the damn ship would leave Emden and start heading this way!
