Just had a call to remind me that my car is booked in for the heater recall? I booked it when they rang me a few weeks back.

But, when I check my VIN on the recall page it says ‘none outstanding’?

The car is a dec 2023 with fully working heater? Anyone know what recall this is and if I should bother?

I know they’re prone on early cars; but I could do without the trip?

Was wondering as well. Got my car back today after service and yes with a new heater aa well! WSL32 campaign apparently. I had 2 failed earlier...now number 3 has been installed. Must be an improved version once again!

I have had mine changed twice too. TBH I don’t know if it was needed and I have a feeling that the dealer just changed it to make a warranty claim against hq. My car is from Dec 2023.

My 4S had the heater recall done before purchase, but the heater just stopped working again so it seems we are going to have heater #3...

Hmmmm…. Well my car is at Nottingham now having my fully working heater replaced….

If it gets swapped out for one that fails I’ll be p1ssed!

Feel like I should have given this one a miss.

Yes it has the feel of "nobody at Porsche does root cause analysis".

My 2020 Taycan 4S has has two heater replacements as well, despite the fact that neither of them failed.

if it's any consolation, i had a recall appointment (not for the heater, other recalls) 3 weeks ago and they called the day before to cancel because, apparently some people got the software update and then their cars wouldn't start :D also in the boat of, my car is working so i'd rather them not touch it haha

For what it's worth my 23 car had the heater fail this winter so the newer cars are just as bad as the early ones. It's probably good to have it replaced.

I had the heater proactively replaced under recall on my 2023 Taycan. Then the new one died the next year when it got cold. Porsche was never clear what they actually fixed with that heater recall, but obviously there is more to fix its reliability. I guess at least the recall replacement resets the timer for when it's going to fail (assuming age of the heater or time in use is a factor of course).

I also heard that Porsche collects some telemetry from Taycans, and uses some AI to predict failures - at least that was Porsche press release. So perhaps worth replacing it even if it's same old part, simply because Porsche may have identified that yours is on its last legs already.

When this was really prevalent, I thought a number of people had replacements that were the same type of heater.

Then Porsche brought an updated/uprated part on line which I though fixed it properly.

2023 cars fell within the net of cars impacted so not new enough to be "cured".

Timelines of when failures happened on a car would probably be useful, including the first time it happened.

(Mine was replaced without the original having failed).

Well the ended up keeping the car overnight…

As @whitex said; the service guy said they had received data from the car suggesting an abnormality, hence the recall being triggered 🤷🏻‍♂️

Who knows?

Got my inspection email too - apparently my rears with over 5mm each are recommended to be changed at £900 for the pair. lol

Tyres are borderline a scam with main dealers from most marques. Scary amber warnings when tyres are barely worn in, exorbitant costs to replace.

If one doesn't like getting ripped off, always always always check how much you are to be charged for tyres, screen wash, wipers and easily replaced filters before agreeing to having them changed.

(And on ICE cars, oil. The single biggest rip off. I used to save well over £100 (think it was nearer £200) each service just by supplying my own oil for my old RS4...the service guy said it had to be the same with a doubtful look, until I showed him the bottle on his shelf was exactly the same as the new, sealed one I gave him, along with receipt from reputable supplier. They never queried it again).

Its not the inner tyrewall issue on the rears is it?
