WRS0 letter arrived today - seems they are now monitoring online even though my original letter was ARB6. Copy of letter attached.

So far it's done nothing which I can only take to be a positive!
I could use my imagination and come up with other possible takes, like "new software module crashed - not running anymore", or "I'm in the placebo group". ;)

Ironically the battery is the one thing I haven't had any issues with, the charging port cover, rear camera washer, brake recall, fan replacement, heater replacement (x3), suspension fault and window module have been more than enough for 12 months!

I've had this letter too.

Very confusing - called the OPC who couldn't explain what software had been updated when my car went in for a new communications module in February. At the time, they told me this diagnostic software had been loaded, allowing Porsche to monitor the battery remotely. But this now doesn't appear to be the case; the software isn't available yet.

Porsche Customer Services raised a ticket, saying they would need to get clarification from Germany. What is clear is that there's a lot of buck-passing between OPCs, Reading and Germany, with owners being left in the dark.

Will post any further update when I get it.

I agree it's confusing...

My take is that the current software allows Porsche to monitor battery health, either remotely or via regular workshop visits, at a fairly basic level. The big "optimised battery diagnostic software", now expected later this year, will add much greater analysis of battery cells and attempt to pre-empt failure by looking for whatever signs are present - and it's this last point which is taking the time to develop. It might transpire that there is no reliable way to identify cells likely to fail - so then what?...

Anyone else get a new letter from Porsche? See attached.
This is despite the fact the software got installed and verified as so by Porsche (they checked when my wheels were swapped).

Received the same letter earlier this week, following my email to Porsche asking why I had heard nothing at all about this issue. Feels like I wouldn't have received anything if i hadn't contacted them.

A bit tangential, but also some claims of J1.1 batteries being replaced with J1.2 now...

Just the procedure was published for service centers, for when the stock of j1.1 batteries / modules is finished.

the stock is not finished, as all defective modules being replaced are sent back to be refurbished

That does seem to make sense. Not sure why the workshop manager couldn't explain it so succinctly!

They don’t know

they receive a procedure to do.

They aren’t told what the software is or does. They aren’t told what an update is or does. They find out same as you, by looking for differences or hearing from other people

Anyone NOT had a communication of any kind re battery? If so, what model, production year etc?
ARB6 covers well over 60.000 cars in europe, and around 30.000 in USA.
Add the other markets, like UK, and you're well over 100.000

That's basically all cars produced and sold before february 2024; when the manufacturing defects were finally fixed.

It's unlikely any car produced before end of feb 2024 is not affected.

For europe the recall includes all VINs between the dates: 21.10.2019 - 04.03.2024
