Hi Guys,

I have a 2020 Taycan Turbo with a heating issue. When the heaters are switched on there is only hot air circulating on the passenger side and cold air on the driver side.
I've tried putting the heating on max and then dropping to the coldest the but no prevail. There is no fault codes on the dash and not sure how to get this fIxed. I called porsche dealership as I heard there was a common issue with the HVAC system on models from 2020. They tod me that they ill inspect the car and if it the HVAC system then the will replace it for free but if its not then I will have to pay them £250+ VAT for diagnostics. I dont think this is a HVAC issue as I still get hot on one side.

has anyone else had this issue? any knowledge and advice would be much appreciated

Thanks.

It really sounds like the heater has died, a common problem that could be replaced under warranty. If you do a search for “heater” and check the “only search in title” box you’ll see how many have mentioned this happening to them. Have you ever done any work on it before?

Check if your front fans are running, if I'm not mistaken the one on the UK drivers' side needs to blow some hot air into the wheel-arch. (turn your front wheels all the way to the left so you can check if the fan is spinning freely).

I had the same issue a while ago, right fan was blocked with dried up dirt
After clearing it and making sure the fan could spin, hot air was back on that side. (euro-spec, so passenger was feeling cold air)
Don't leave it on "auto", set it to full blast to test :)

Hope it's the same quick fix for you, worth a shot.

I've had a similar issue. It turned out to be servo motor inside the heater assembly in the dashboard. The dashboard has to come out to perform the repair. Porsche extended the warranty on these servo motors in the US. Good luck.

Almost certainly 'the servo motor problem' which is why one side works hot and the other not. Not the high voltage heater as hot air is being blown...

You could use MapEV diag to pull the codes, would have cost you all of $10.
The thing is though, it sounds like you wouldn't have been able to fix it anyway yourself and would have paid someone to do so.

Or did you want to take the dash apart yourself to get to the servomotors? If so then MapEV Diag will show you which one is bad. If not, then just bring it to whoever is going to work on it.

I tried MapEV and The faut codes that I got were U045600 Invalid Data Received From Coolant Temperature Control Module. Has anyone else had this before?

Also got two further faults for the From active air grilles but I recently had the replaced with my bumper and Doubt they would cause loss of heating on driver side cabin.

Post the entire scan as a text file, you're probably missing something. Unless of course you cleared the faults, in which case you will have to wait a bit for it to show up again.

It's persistent. I cleared the faults few weeks ago and it still appears. and then tried again and still have the same heating issue.

Your entire logic of clearing faults repeatedly and then assuming only the ones that show up immediately are active is flawed.

Stop using the clear button and drive the car for a few days. The servomotor codes are not instant in many cases, it takes a while. So if you keep clearing the faults over and over then you'll never get the chance to see what is actually causing the issue.

Also scan can be saved to text file and uploaded. Just FYI.

Heat pump is not filled and two servo motor faults... it's quite clear no?
