As noted, they are mobile wheel repair facilities. They are truly amazing at what amount of damage they can return to pristine condition. The amount shown above are truly a very light amount compared to what they can easily handle, and when done they return wheel to new condition. Not to say it isn’t stressful when we curb rash even lightly one wheel of ours…
100% agree the sound is the most painful thing. But I have spoken to one mobile alloy referub person and he quote me around £60 which I found quite reasonable as he said if he has to send it off to a specialised garage 1) it will take a week b) it will cost double the amount.

He said the only difference between mobile and if you were to do it a a designated spot is if you are looking for the previous damage then you might be able to see it but that only depends on how damaged the wheels are but he goes its not worth paying the extra amount.

What do you think Garage or Mobile Alloy?

It's the only sensible thing to do really.
Careful what you wish for. Someone on here a while back clouted their wheel and needed to replace it. Porsche protocol was to change some of the suspension components etc as well, just in case! Wasn't cheap.

So don't take it to a porsche garage to get it fixed!

Taking it to a Porsche dealership... (for minor scuff/ damage) could mean more trouble/ money than what it is worth !

I guess I'm the only one who just never checks for scuffs. Ignorance is bliss. 🫣

I kerbed my wheel in exactly the same car park within 7 days of ownership, evil evil car park.

I only park in the mailbox now as that's *slightly* better. I hate car parks in general - this Taycan is a wide car!

I scuffed a wheel so lightly you can barely see it. Pothole I couldn't avoid with a car coming the other way. British roads 🤷‍♂️ I'm really anal with cars/wheels but tbh this time I'm gonna ignore it until I get another one, inevitable in the UK. Then I'll put it in to a local reputable garage to do a proper repair job. It's only me that knows and so I'm blissfully ignoring and and driving the car the way it's meant to be, whilst summer lasts!

I guess I'd differ w/some that scuffed rims are not necessarily normal for a daily driver.
Been driving daily Pcars for 30 years, most with expensive custom wheels.

Friends, we have a car here that has quite possibly the widest track of most any 'car' on the planet today.....and then some of us space out the wheels a tad for a lower ET.

In my case, I discovered early-on that any new touchless car washes in my market were instantly no go because the drive-in side rails measured tighter than I'd like.
Fact is.....we have a very wide car guys, and so we must drive (and wash :)) accordingly.

I joined the club under 2 weeks of ownership. the damnest thing is that i was not rushing and not speeding. was just getting into right turn lane and then a loud "boon". I can't believe it. Good that i got tire and rim protection, that is result from me having saved up a large arsenal due to delay.

This is typical of the roads near me.... and there are buses coming the other way.
The bus alone barely fits on the road.

If you meet them head-on at blind bends with cars behind, you just have to grit your teeth as you mount the pavement.

Pointless being too precious about alloy damage for me.
